Too late too plant?

I plan doing my first grow ever outdoors this summer (43° N). Got some Kalichakra seeds in, looking very nice and big. I plan on putting them outside in 2 weeks. It isn't too late is it?

Absolutely not. Im still planting seed plants and will soon start planting clones all the way up until mid August. Plant away crom. Theres plenty of time.

It's been a cool wet spring here at 41 and now would be a good time to start. Would be even better if you started inside 2-3 weeks ago.

Just put out a clone yesterday to add to the bunch. Go put your specimens out in full sun and let them soak in it until harvest, have fun man! good luck. :joint: whistle while you work.

Is anyone still putting seedlings out. I was thinking about planting all the way to the end of August. I live in the Midwest of the US. I have had plants go all the way to Oct 20. Will they have enought time to get fully mature? They will all be started indoors for at least 2 weeks.

I just came home from one of my spots and discovered my 32 plants chopped down by beavers! I found a new spot and want to know if I have enought time to start all over? Any help would be greatly appreciated

I have found from experience that plants started from seed after the first week of July will take longer to finish properly than seeds started earlier. Clones on the other hand could be placed out as late as the last week of July or so and finish normally.

For most October finish strains, growing in the temperate parts of the N. Hemisphere(Most of Europe, the lower 48 USA, and Southern Canada), the day length cycle that first starts budding occurs in the last week of July. If your plants have not reached basic maturity by that time(5-7 weeks of age), they will lag behind their older sisters until they are old enough to bloom.

Clones on the other hand by their nature should be more than mature enough to bloom, and will probably do well planted out as late as the last week of July and first weeks of August.

My clones are being vegged inside and they will be planted outside in the first week of August so it is not too late for clones but it is too late for seeds

Hi Fat Tone and others

While i agree with about everything thats been said, i have had a slightly different experience with seeds started at this date or later. Sativa leaning strains may behave differently, but my experience with indica's are that if started now, veged for a week or 2 and then cut back to start flowering, they can be placed outside to finish without any negative effects at all with the exception of yield, which of course is less than if the plant was vegged longer.

My suggestion would be to veg those seeds 24 hrs for as long as possible, kick back to 12/12 for 10 days and put them out. A 45 days strain will make it and give you a decent yield in my view.

It all depends on how rough your Autimn weather is, I pretty much need my buds to be close to finish by October 15th, because after that date they won't get much help for heat or light from the failing sun which is obscurred by rainclouds. Seedlings planted later than early July tend to lag too much, and are not far along to finish before it gets too cold and dim.

Of course, for folks who live at a warmer, lower latitude, this is not a problem, in some climates you could start seeds any time from now to early spring and finish them anytime through the winter to mid-spring(when the light cycles are long enough to reverse blooming) with no problem.

well dont read previous messages but tell it as i have experiences with this what are u asking for.
Sure light intensity and temperature of light(no weather temp) is sure slightly changing though year but for now we consider it as still same.
Each one strain needs some time for vegetation, mainly regular strains. This is various for various strains, from my experience its most often between 3-5weeks. this is must even when u keep plant from the begin under flowering light schedule(we are talking about growin from seeds when plant is starting her life, clones are different situation). So then u have to consider how sensitive is your regular strain. If u are growin this in conditions (light schedule) which is enough short for flowering then u have to rate for time till harvest as needed time for vegetation + flowering time. It mean plant will be smaller (only really needed time for vegetation). So for example. if starting now and u have some strain which need one month for vegetation, then. This will start showing pistils around first half of auugust, sure if this strain is yet now enough stimulated for flowering. Cause if u will grow strain naturally starting flowring later as this needed time, then this wont be critical factor for this :)
I hope it was explained anough clearly and if not pls ask u all who want to know :) Will be pleasure for me to tell u more :)
Bye my friends
