Hey all

No pics as of yet but what I can tell you is that the Haze has stretched like a futhamucka!

Seriously, I've raised the reflector as high as it can go and still I've not got enough headroom. I flipped 12/12 when the haze was 5cm above the screen, that's about 25cm from the pot. She is now at about 1m high, from the screen. So this little lady has gone from 25cm to 125cm, what's that about 500% stretch!! Eish....

She is gonna be a producer that's for sure, it's good thing also that I refilled the carbon scrubber yesterday, she is starting to stink! Shame, the Big Bang next to her is looking like a dwarf! I've had to raise it 50cm just so it can get some light!

Next time I'll hydro grow a haze 12/12 from seed!

...so whats cookin in everyones pot these days? I am flowering an interesting Malawi variety from Afroman. Looking very strong and happy atm. Also have some other fems that I have moved OUTSIDE in their pots to finish up outside. Is this a good idea? The plants that I move out seem to become happier and swing thicker tails imho. Advice pls.

Anybody interested in THseeds Bubbelgum pollen as well as Theeds SAGE pollen? I have had about 80% of my girls carry seeds for future grows. So its f1 all the way for a while. This can be a pricey hobby. I am looking at Sour Dies IbL X Bubbelgum seeding and also SD IbL with SAGE.

Green fingered students held

Three green fingered students have been arrested for allegedly keeping a dagga plantation in a room at the University of Pretoria's student residence, police said on Tuesday.

Police found dagga plants in various stages of cultivation, ranging from 20 germination trays to larger plants growing in cold drink glasses and half metre high plants growing on the stoep during their raid at the Olympus residence on Monday night, said Inspector Wanda Olivier.

Police allegedly found mature plants drying on hangars in the cupboard, bags of compost, supplies of fertiliser, an assortment of hubbly bubblies, dagga seeds and 51 grams of packed dagga during the search.

The three - third and fourth year medical students at the university and a fourth year student from the Tshwane University of Technology - were due to appear in court on Tuesday on charges of possessing and dealing in dagga.

They claimed to have gleaned their specialist gardening skills from the Internet, said Olivier, adding that the search came after a tip-off from Primedia's Crime Line. - Sapa

Shit! That sucks, but hopefully the magistrate will go easy on them. What are the usual sentence for this kind of thing? Surely no jail time!! What kind of fine or suspended sentence. Will be interesting to find out what happens to these poor lads

They are young , probably no criminal record... but they hed over 20 TRAYS of cuttings.. thats quite hectic. And its dealing not just growing so the intent was there.

I dont know but its probably the end of their medical degree unless they get off really lightly but I cant see how they will get away with it. Just to get a suspended sentence with that kind of setup will be an achievement. Lawyers can work wonders though

Yes personally running a small weed related in SA is really not everyones cup of tea, I have my sleepless nights. But rest assured police will not be bothered with people growing a "few plants" on in your garden and indoors, but have a flowering room and veg room is extreme and the law will shut that down if they have been tipped off.

I thought about it for a bit and and brushed it off as there are thousands of weed grow diaries, websites, videos, dvd's, etc that cover this topic. We dont really have people with grows of over 10 plants and its all for personal consumption and not distribution. No dealing happens on the site, we merely just share advice, knowledge, pictures, etc. Yes it is grey lines, but hopefully in the near future our laws from 1992 will be changed.


For the safety of our users we do not log ip addresses and you can use anon proxies, if the police should ever investigate our site through a subpoena they would need to follow the same process on these type of sites. For me this is a very touchy subject and I am really hoping for the best in SA and regards to us opening up our laws to allow us to grow freely, or taxed or whatever the debate will be.

And its dealing not just growing so the intent was there.

Under SA law you will be tried as a dealer if you are caught with more than 116grams on you and plants are weighed, and all falls under dealing and distribution.

The problem aswell is alll these stories we here just give you the bust details, there is never any follow up. I am certain these medical students will get off lightly or with the case being withdrawn totally, and will try and get us feedback.

There are currently another two cases in JHB, one for dope dealing and paraphernalia and the other for a bust of 150 outdoor plants in the nothern suburbs. I am keeping updated with these and both defendents are certain they will get off with no record. Updates to follow.

There was also another bust in CT a week or so back, has anyone got any details on that, it was about 200 plants. I think us connecting on sites like this is imperitive as we can share news like this, so if you hear anything about outcomes of these cases please update us all.
