Anyone use MG organic soil?

I have only used FFOF in the past, straight up, nothing added and I never had a problem with it being hot or any problems for that matter.....I wanted to try MG Organic soil.Has anyone used MG organic soil before? Straght up(nothing added). I will be using Bio Bizz nutrients as well as some Indonesian and Mexican guano's It's like $20 cheaper than the Fox Farm and I don't need to go too the hydro store. Would u recommend it? Would you not? Any help would be greatly appreicated........Wedgy

It's mostly plain old peat. So, why not use plain old peat?
Throw in some worm castings, perlite and dolomite and have a better soil mix than you can buy anywhere.

5 parts Canadian Spaghnam Peat
3 parts perlite
2 parts worm castings
Powdered dolomite lime @ 2 tablespoons per gallon or 1 cup per cubic foot of the soiless mix.
...Wal-Mart now sells worm castings.
If you use a 3 qt. saucepan as “parts” in the amounts given above, it equals about 1 cu. ft. of soiless mix and you can just dump in a cup of powdered dolomite lime.
But, a "part" can be anything from a tablespoon to a five gallon bucket. Just use the same item for all of the "parts".

I expect the product you are talking about is mg organic garden soil....

It weighs a ton and is clearly not mostly peat....

For your needs promix or coco and complete ferts are probably your best choice....

By the way I would not recommend the garden soil for inside....

the bag actually says not for indoors....

MG also makes an organic potting mix which is probably peat based.....

and for indoor use...

I have used miracle gro org potting mix and lime, the plants I grew were perfect. For a 60 day strain Mg and lime will do the trick. :headbange

Stipules.......I meant too say organic potting mix, my bad......I already have 7 seedlings(about 10 days) in soil(whatever I had left of the FFOF from last grow)......Maybe I'll just stick with the FFOF....It is expensive, but then again so is buying weed

If that's your situation, then stick to FFOF. It's not bad, just expensive and over rated.
You may want to add a cup of powdered dolomite lime to each bag of FFOF. That shouldn't take much space. Add a bag of worm castings from Wal-Mart and a small bag of perlite and you'll have a complete mix. Use a couple of plastic trash cans to do the mixing in.
Same with the MG.
How are you dealing with odor in an apartment?

Perlite

Perlite

Yeah I forgot to say perlite :puppydoge , it is a must, but mg mix, perlite and lime will grow some good plants at least for 2 months. The bag says 3.

I have used it with good results my first couple go rounds with soil. I did add some perlite along with bone and blood meal though. Good luck!

I used the MG Organic potting mix on my last run. It burnt the shit out of some young Grapefruit x Kodiak Gold plants I was running. Not even straight MGO.

2 parts MGO

1 part Hyponex cheap stuff

1 part pearlite
