is the commercial weed market recession proof ?

G

seems weed sells even better in times of recession i find in my country .. folks need to get out of it more i guess to stop the pain of everyday life ...
as ive seen so far the past year , everything has skyrocketed in price ,, but seems weed has stayed the same .. i wonder how long that will remain ...
what has happened in america ,, are things rising steadily ?? and has weed been affected by the price rises ??

As far as i can tell the price of bud has stayed the same for a while. Prices in the midwest are consistent at least, no matter how much they police take off the streets. Sometimes there is so much around you expect prices to go down, but it is pretty static. I wish I could the same about other things, but with the price of gas goin up every week, we can watch the price of everything else rise accordingly.

Actually, the price of pot has gone up more than gas. Around 1970, I could buy an oz. of Michoacan or Cambodian for $10. A pound was $100. Gas was about 49 cents per gallon. Gas is now 10 times what it was in 1970. Pot is 40 times what I paid in 1970.

Many years ago, I worked for the Nestle Company. Their research showed that a recession had little effect on the sales of alcohol and chocolate. Men used alcohol to drown their sorrows, and women used chocolate.

it amazing what happens when there is a governless marketplace

Im stuck really bad, the only thing I have any passion for in my life is growing

I love my family, but there is no money in that.

I am intelligent, charismatic and have some tech skills & experience, but no passion to be in babylon do the things babylonians do

hmm well, i guess booze made it thru the depression (25% unemployment) when it was illegal, so the pot market can probably take a big hit and not go down. still, things like electricity are on the rise and i gotta think that will shave (gouge?) grower profits. a collection of cost saving tips would be popular.

if medical use starts going through, all bets are off, itll be like pannin for gold in the yukon :rasta:

recession proff. it is close to 100% profit for someone. so there will always be a percentage for that person as long as the demand doesen't dissappear. rofl. back to reality, the free factor are what make the sex and drug markets the same. Private parts like pot plants are phree to someone.

PEACE

thats really tru!

ive put the numbers togeter MANY MANY times, and w/out turning this into a distribution/dealing thread, it pretty consistantly costs me $9/oz to produce....and im not a commercial grower...and thats after paying the light bill, and buying nutrients etc....and i could easily sell it for $100 per quarter oz, tho i usually dont, and i actually give away more to friends than i sell.

also that $9/oz doesnt count my time and my risk to produce it....thats just the monetary cost.

the last shit i purchased was a hydrofarm A/C hood, a 600 watt hortilux bulb , and a lumatek 600 watt purple digi ballast...i didnt even blink at the price tag (wasnt that bad anyway)...oh and a 6'' vortex fan.

you better believe that shit was paid for fast!

w/ me nutes go a long way....i have gallons of GH and tho im not a fan of GH...i never got that shit down, i like FF gear, and ocean forest soil...regardless its a drop in the bucket to what u get from it.

wow what a coincidence NOKUY= i bought that same shit 2 months ago before i ran the wappas sog grow i just harvested.

i got a 600 watt future brite ballast, the vortex 6", and that super sun 2 hood (looks exactly like that hood, they have a older smooth matte finish version, the newer hammered finish on top and smooth on the sides model, a fully hammered finish model, and a fully hammered finish model with the new hinged glass and gasket

i chose the "super NRG" bulb over the hortilux though cuz it puts out 97,000 lumens and is the same spectrum as te hortilux.

but that fan matched with that hood is the shit the light stays super cool

i considered it the "best" i could buy and appearrantly you do too. sweet!!

why is your vortex 449 cfm and mine is 457 cfm???

and i buy the home depot ducting too, fuck the grow shop wants waaaay tooo much $$$ for their flexible ducting.

have you tried the semi rigid ducting?? its like tim or something and you can unwrapp it around and around if you fuck it up. and it keeps the smoothest less "frictiony" interior for the ari to flow way better

i have a 6" ecoplus inline fan that is rated @ 440 cfm, a BloomWright 6" ac mojave reflector, and 250 watt and 400 wat future brite ballast(s).

i have a General Hydro ready-to-grow 1X3 flood and drain system with a tengallon resorvoir, all this stuff is extra stuff taking up space.

i dont know what the TOU say about selling grow gear to other members but if you check my profile my email adress is there and open to the public and let me know and ill post it up on ebay and we could pay pal this stuff and i could send it on its way to you.

shit it depends on whether or not you want a ballast or if you want it all, but what ever the case i will make it a "happy price" for you the customer i will pass the savings on to you.

the eco pluss inline retails for 170.00 usd
the bloomweright reflector retails for any where from $89.00-149.00
the 250watt FB digi sells for like 200 or less and the 400 sells for 270 or less
and the hydro system by GH sells for 80.

so cut it all in half and then subtact 20% then add 10%v and that is the price.lol just trying to boggle you a bit

knowck off 60% on all the prices and there you have it if you want it all ill goeven lower. if you buy a ballast i will throw in brand new in the box MH and HPS bulbs for each ballast. they will be made my either ge or phillips or sylvania. but they will be new.

if you get the 400 watter i have a hortilux ill give up for 20 buck extra (new in box)

if i am in violation of the TOU then i will politely apologize to the mods and webmaster here and will have no whoes if you choose to delete this post

subrob im not sure why there is a difference in cfms on the fans...i got a speed controller too, and i usually keep it half way down so i dont even hear it, and the temps stay perfect.

when i ran that clost grow i was runnin my cabinet scrog at the same time. (thats 300 watts, and just HD HPS bulbs) nuthin special.

im not really familiar w/ all the different bulbs, but when i got my shit i did the research here, and chose what i thought was best....sounds really sim. subrob...good shit!

i have all my closet gear packed up to move, and am gonna start tearing down my cabinet today...... sorta sucks!

but i havent smoked in almost 3 months now, and am probably moving to take a new job...gonna put my grow gear in storage here, and come back for it when i have a place and things are calm. (they are calm now, but just when shit gets settled down)

dont know if ill get to smoke w/ the new job ...if not no biggie...im still gonna grow.

subrob i hear what u mean about the stiffer duct...i didnt have an option in my space for it to be that stiff....i pulled air in thru a carbon scrubber, and the duct had to bend here and there quite a bit.

Like they say. A junkie is a junkie 365. Prices will actually increase because of transportation costs. When gas goes up so does the cost of everything else.
