NOT YET VERTICAL & NOT YET TREES ;-)

NOT YET VERTICAL & NOT YET TREES ;-)

Well I soaked the seeds in R/O (all water is/will be R/O, 3 ppm, 5.9-ish ph) for 24 hours, then transfered into Sunleaves classic coir that was soaked in 10ml/gallon Cal-Mag (inside 4" cocopots). I've got Cal-Mag, PBP, and LK @ 600ppm (3.5 ml/gallon each), 5.8 ph, waiting in the res. They are under a 125w cfl, 17/7 for now. I'm keeping the humidity around 70 RH. I added a heater and put the thermostat on 70*F, so that's in check. There isn't much too see just yet; only two had cracked before I put them in their place. :ying:

What's with the little sticks? Is that in anticipation of propping them up? If so, I suggest you scratch that and lower the lights instead. I've never used a 125w CFL so I don't know how hot they get, but I imagine you can get them about 2" away without a problem.

Hey there DrKong  Welcome to the show. They will stay where they are for a 2-3 week veg; flowering will come soon, via digital 600w.

No no no no Clowntown :spank: , those are bug stix and yellow monitoring cards; they are very good at keeping the fungus gnat population in check. :muahaha:

I use those mosquito bits that have a predatory bacteria in them. They keep the fungus gnats away for sure. I use soil so they might not work as well in coco. They make a liquid form which works better/costs more called Gnatrol. same bacteria.

I'm not sure what mosquito bits you're talking about (dunks?), but I've heard of Gnatrol. I checked the MSDS on that stuff and they withhold the inert ingredients as a trade secret. These plants will be alive for a long time so I'll buy some predator nematodes soon; just going to wait until I transplant.

I dig those pots. Do the roots grow through like a peat pot? I also dig spiders in my garden, unless they are black widows.

:chin:

I expect the roots to penetrate the coco pots easily.

Spiders are just too cool.

Yeah it does sound pretty heavy for seedlings, but particularly for this strain from what I've read so far...

Well, I was using the 442 conversion factor on my meter; according to KCl & NaCl, strength was running about 140 fewer ppm than that (so around 470 ppm). I've always gone with the higher number to be on the safe side. I actually have to add ice cubes and cold water to keep res temps low, so I have to account for that. Right now, res is sitting at .75 EC.

It's looking like 7/10 with another possible I dug up and put back in water (fingers crossed). :ying: This 125w cfl is uber-weak; I'll be breaking out my 1K MH as soon as this 7th sprouts. Pics coming soon.

Here they are, 10 days after dropping them in water. There are already roots coming out the bottom of these coco pots. Seems as if they are growing quickly, especially for such small plants.

This little one had round leaves from the get-go.....funky.

1 curled leaf.

This is the 7th that I justed had to dig up. :wallbash: It threw off it's shell way early; sorry fella. :badday: I'll give it 24 hours, but it's compost in my mind.

:ying: 6/10 - I am happy. :muahaha:
