Sin city ain't nothing like NM. not even close, I can only imagine how you feel back east with all those people and no desert or rocky mountains, come home chaco.

OldPath, are those LED lights in there??

Yes they are two led panels in the red spectrum (630-660nm) and they help supplementing a 150w hps very well. I veg my plants in a chamber that is 80 watts of cfls, then I throw them in the 150w chamber. The LEDs also have Velcro on them so the can be raised or lowered if necessary. They are great for sight lighting in my opinion. The have an effect called the 'shadow effect' which makes the plant 'think' it's shaded, that is why most LEDs cause stretching and increase resin production, b/c a shaded cannabis plant will stretch if shaded and the trichs also swell up to attract male pollen, even if viable pollen has already reached an ovule... At least, that's how I understood it. Check out some of my threads, I have a Himalaya Gold in there right now and I just threw Cream Caramel in there. I did a grow with Bangi Haze
also, but my ph pen broke and everything went to hell, so I chopped it down ealry at about 6 1/2 weeks. I have a re-vegging Bangi Haze that is in organic soil so I'll give it another go. But this chamber with the led's supplementing the 150w hps is awesome so far. Since I veg them in only 80w of CFL when they come into this chamber, their node spacing is very nice and tight, then they shoot out in 2 weeks.

Here's H. Gold when I threw her in:

Here it is two weeks later:

Josey I'd move back so fukin fast but I'm soo entrenched in east coast life, bills up to the ceiling, people everywhere. My wife won't leave her old parents here.I'm going out to my 4 corners property in Aug after fishing season to bring a caterpillar out to move some dirt around and get the hell out of here for a bit. Here's a pic of me working on my 4 corners property, faces SE anhas a well on top of the hill.I reckon at 8200ft my plants would be going out in about another month and go until maybe Oct 9th.My Chem DD would do great out there , my IBL too!!Peace to all SW growers. :joint: :joint:

The Pacheco Bros are keeping an eye on my gear, just south of the CO border.Anybody remember back in 92 when they shot the Conejos county sheriff in my town for acting up in local bar?He shouldn't of come south, not that I condone that act in any way but don't come looking for TROUBLE in NM!!Right?Thats the diff between east and southwest, my old man always told me( back in Mora county) if anybody crosses that gate and you don't know them, shoot first then call Montoya(sheriff). Here in Mass I can't even own a gun.I've got a fat stash buried there on that hill for when I visit.Friendliest place you'll ever go but you all know not to start it up with the Spaniards. Here I am largely misunderstood and eastern ways still baffle me.Peace, Chaco. :joint: :joint:

Yeah Chaco we have a bunch of the Montoya clan down south to. good peps as long as you don't cross one, then you got the whole family looking for you. What you got growing back east? I know you did the double d as I did also and loved a couple of the phenos I had . all Im doing now is stock pileing seeds and waiting to see what happens in court in late june.If it goes bad I might have to head for the nm border and go back to the simple good life there. also have something you might be interesed in if you want to pm me we can talk.

Hey sci-

I've got a 1/4hp chiller that I use in dwc...6 buckets max, and a 25 gallon res/controller. I've had brown algae problems on a run or 2 before I started with a chiller, and this time of year I'm just going with e&f tables and organic dirt for the extra-special stash.

I'm a true believer in SM90, hydroguard(or similar bacteria) and hygrozyme. I've had good luck with peroxide, too, but you can easily over-oxidize roots. When I fill a tank with water I'll dose it with peroxide and put an airstone in it if I'm not gonna use it right away. So far, I'm doing all right, but I really start to hate the power bills in July/August...

Got some stuff going on outside...we'll see how that works. I might rig up a timer for the misters I have. Kinda create an on-demand microclimate on the back porch, but I've already managed to fry a couple little plants a few weekends ago when I had to go out of town for a few days.

Good luck y'allz, summer is HERE!!

God I hope so E, getting real tired of baby sitting these veggies.

BAH! That weekend I went down to Joshua Tree was the first stoopid heat wave we had here...fried my outdoor DG's AND some of my 'mater plants :bashhead: :muahaha:

Ahhh well, I know if I want to do a "serious" outdoor here, I gotta have the right strain(s) and have a better plan for the blast-furnace days coming up. Got a couple nice looking testers going, tho!

Keep us posted, bro!
