How big of an area are you trying to cover with 3 x 23w's? If a single 10x20 nursery flat, it's too much.

if the temps are hangin around 74 a lot you might warm her up. i put a SMALL incadescent bulb in for one of the cfls (60w, but in an open space), warmed it up. depends on how tight you are you want it back from the girls a foot or 2. dont roast em.

ok, i rearranged my wardrobe and now i got the temps a lil higher. 77 at last check. RH at 80%.

in one of ed rosenthal's books he says that keeping the medium at 65 is the best temp for rooting... any thoughts on that?

I think Ed was heavily medicated. Been using a heat mat for a while now and find the sweet spot to be about 5 degrees over ambient air temps. Which for me is keeping the puck at about 82 to 85f.

If you want to clone really slowly :nono: , 65f would do the trick.

caljim you place containers right on the mat, or put somethin between the mat and pots, or a thermostat? gotta get one of those mats.

Flubnutz--The pucks go into a tray, and the tray sits on the mat.

One exta puck is hydrated and the probe for the mats thermostat goes into that puck. The thermostat cycles the heat mat depending on the temp of the spare puck.

You really dont need a heat mat to have success cloning, its nice, but not required.

In the past my tray of clones would sit on top of a rack of floros and would be kept warm from their radient heat.

Givin the pucks a go.
Side by side with a bubbler.
I took two cuts from each donor. 1 for each method.
77F, 70% rh

I'm "rooting" for the pucks to outperform the bubbler.

But anything will be nice really!
I don't have a good record in the cloning dept...

Kroter, I'm curious how you stuck your cuts into the pucks. I noticed the holes in your aluminum weren't big enough for a puck to fit through. And why the aluminum, if you don't mind me asking?

Wait, is that the bubbler on the left?

Yep. ...with a "Lougrew! Lid" (Aluminum foil)

UPDATE:
I'm already having some wilt with the pucks

I've had so many die under a dome, that this time I decided to go topless!
The pucks dried faster than I thought they would.

This morning, I syringed a few drops of water on the pucks.
Maybe I squeezed too much water out of them to begin with?
:asskick:

All in the bubbler are still look good, but that dosent mean anything...

I've had some luck with the bubbler in the past.
Never hit 50%. ...maybe 30% ...maybe not... :bashhead:

I'm just trying to fing something that works for me.

:rasta: Hey bro  ,i use the pellets and get 100% all the time.I use the pellets in a dome using olivias gel.I put them in the dome ,mist the top and duct tape the sides.I wont open it or check for roots for atleast 8 days, then i remist and retape.Use the smallest CFL i can get,and in about 10 to 14 days i have tons of roots. If i recieve a cut,it will look like the pix you posted after being in the mail for awhile, but they always perk up under the dome and light,i think they are like that because of no dome. Not sure Bro,just trying to give a couple hints, good luck.Peace and stay safe,DancesWithWeed

THANK YOU, Peaville Dances With Pride Weed!

well misted.

Domed.

They have been under 18" away from a single 40W "shoplight" the whole time. 24/0
I used Root-tone.

I just re-read where you said mist the dome.
I misted the cuts and pucks. :bashhead:
I knew that :wallbash:

The pucks were VERY dry, and I dont think I misted them enough to be fully rehydrated. But that's not what I want is it?

My dome is air tight....and shut...
The cuts are 4 days from their donors. (taken on 5/28)

Any further comments and/or suggestions?

The only time i open my dome is if they look like they need more water.I wet them good but not to where there dripping wet.I also mist the bottom of the tray around the pucks.Good luck Bro,and cant wait til yer all rooted up :headbange .Peace and stay safe,DancesWithWeed
