Will this light cycle fuck up my plants during flower?

So due to heat issues, and me having to go away next weekend for a few days, I am trying to decide of a way to keep the heat down, and keep the cab closed...

I also want to put them on 12/12 soon, like tommorow, as i just realized i have been veggin' for a 5 weeks already, they just been through some damn stress :(

but anywasy for a light cycle i was thinking, 12 off, then 4 on, .5 off, 4 on, .5 off, 3 on?

Essentially 11/12? basically as long as i let them get 12 hours of strait darkness, will it fuck with them to do that during the time the lights are on? If i dont do this, i risk the cab getting near 100 degrees, due to poor ventilation...but i can prob keep that number closer to 90 with the above light cycle.... i just can't get it under control without a very loud or maybe expensive case fan? high CFM?, right now i am running like 37cfm in and out, but the cab is right next to the a/c and the room temp is normally about 70... its like it doesnt really get that much in, or actually i think its because i have a shelf and then and "empty" space above the lights in between the top of the cab?

See below:

EDIT: yes i finished the mylaring and raised the shelf up a little bit actually since taking that pic weeks ago.

anyone have any ideas on cooling it better? I tried the fan blowing the exhause both sitting ontop of that shelf, above like 6 holes i drilled, and also instead of that i just put it in the very back right top corner, blowing out, but i dont think it made enough pressure to suck the air up or somethin?

edit: on a positive note, they are very healthy and have been stable at about 86-88 degrees for the past 4 days.

You cant do that, it must replicate the real sun 12 hours light, 12 hours dark.

Your going to have some burnt plants, you might wanna get control over that heat issue quick.

G-luck

How many days is a few?

You could try keeping them in veg until just before you leave, then just keep them in the dark unitl you get back. Then flip to 12/12. Many people give their plants a day or two in the dark when flipping from veg to flower, the idea is that you are resetting the plants clock--so to speek.

Or

Put your plants into 12/12 and run your lights at night. This way you dont have to fight the heat of your lights and the heat of the day.

2 or 3 days, more than likely 2 nights. I was already planning on starting the 12/12 at night... to coincide with the coolest part of the day.

I really dont want to have to wait that long to flip the switch, however andrew do u have any links or evidence for that claim? I was fairly certain as long as the plants get 12 hours of solid darkness, it didnt matter how much light they got? i mean in nature u can have cloudy days where the plants wouldnt get nearly as much light? or if its really cloudly all day and the plants are outside underneath some bigger trees anyways.

edit, or what about putting them on 12/12 now, where i can control the temps when i am here....then leaving them on like 18/6 or something? (18 hours of darkness) i imagine in 6 hours it would probably get about 90-95 in there... which is almost acceptable, as these are pretty Sativa dominant...so they can handle the temps... they get ornary above like 92.

Hello King.

You can go 14 off 10 on and reduce the bulb # to 1 bulb for 15 /30 mins during the on time..but leave atleast 1 bulb on during on time..it's like being cloudy outside..

be well.. see ya soon..maybe :rasta: lol

Just leave them vegging and the cab doors open 24/7 while you are gone....or can't you leave the doors open? Or is leaving it open a security breach?

And your grow is gonna be toast if you don't do something about that heat....and soon.

The following is for other new growers, not you KingofNY:

PLAN the major aspects of a grow BEFORE you begin. It'll save you from problems like KingofNYis having.
