Overpopulation

So, I don't know if I'm the only one of the few who notices this trend, but by the time the earth reaches its maximum amount of sustainable human lives (I'm saying in the ball park of 11 billion) it will only be ~2050. I don't know what the rest of you think, but this is reason enough for me to pledge to never reproduce.

If I want a kid, I'll adopt.

If I can change the minds of just a few people, we can save this earth and its inhabitants a lot of pain. I believe that if we can get the world population to sustain itself at about 3 billion people, we will be able to live peacefully with nature on its planet.

Isn't 2050 the year they also predict that the last fish will get pulled from the ocean...

nope, the next big prediction is in 2012.

yes, by not creating a new human being to this overpopulated chaos is in my mind the ultimate enviromental act.

i've been thinking about vasectomy also just for a final caution, just feels kinda weird to mess with your body that way as i wont even take any tattoos or piercings.

If the world is going to end in 2012 then i suggest we do the opposite and try to see how many children we can make before that time. If we are all going to die anyway then no-one will be around to care. Quid pro quo!

DAMN YOU >> YOU DIRTY APES

DAMN YOU >> YOU DIRTY APES

i see what you guys are saying...but procreation is basically what we are here for, were basically just animals with computers. I respect the idea of not having a kid for the sake of the environment but i doubt YOU not having a seed is gonna do much for all the pollutants being dumped into the ocean and all the co2 spewed into the atmosphere your delusional if you think were making it to 2050 anyways...

Overpopulation is already a problem in some areas. Have u ever been to nyc? holy shit it is crowded and the they keep building more and more homes. There has been a tidal wave of Russians buying up all the new homes in NY.

Certain groups of people need to quit fornicating like rabbits, and pumping out babies like there was no tomorrow, otherwise nature will set them straight eventually and solve the problem.

There should be a worldwide 1 or 2 child policy, honestly I think the world is overpopulated now.Two would probably be better as far as abandonment goes, but would be the slowest option in population reduction, as your only reducing by the number of people that die before having the chance to reproduce.

Unfortunately though I don't think the world would ever be able to agree on this and so the fate of the Earth is to be overun by this pestilence known as humans.

The average crude birth rate for the entire world is around 20 per 1,000 population. The top 100 counties with the highest birth rates are also 100 of the poorest countries which depend the most on foreign aid.

Send someone free food and you can feed them for a day, send them a condom and you can feed them for a lifetime.
