Welcome to IC.
"Organic Based" usually means the contents have some organic ingredients in them. Some examples are Fox Farm Grow Big and Botanicare Pure Blend Pro. Organic means "It once lived". We use organic ingredients in our grows as well as "natural" ingredients such as dolomite lime. We also use "man made" materials such as perlite.
Hope that helped.

This website expands a lot and has links.

I'm trying to be a purist. Eventually all my nutrients will be organic. The mulch pile micro heard is increasing as we speak. I "cheat" and use Pure Blend Pro now (contains potassium salts and cleated mineral). Soon It will be earth worn castings, molasses, guanos and other natural items, I'll be "certified". Not really but in my head I will be.
