i wouldn't say they are females for sure, its just they have reached sexual maturity. Im not looking for seeds, just gonna kill the males flower the females and re-veg the best smoke. Im just not sure yet about the grape apes. if i have to i guess i can tie the mexis down if they get too tall for the apes. anyway, thanks 4 checkin in.

this grape ape just broke the surface....

this one is having trouble kicking it's shell...
If they have reached sexual maturity, or they have shown pre-flowers like you state then they are either male or female. If the nodes are alternating without showing sex, then it's time to flower if you want, does not mean you have to. But you can flower anytime you want.
What I meant by seed sog, is that some growers put seeds in the ground, veg until they reach a certain height like 6 inches and then flower. That way they have a single bud. It's hard to do a sog with seeds though.
Peace and good luck.

think im goin for 3 foot plants, so when they are almost a foot tall i will flower, im guessing if these mexis are what i think they are it will be some pretty nice buds... should i top them? here are the new pics.

this one is of all the plants (my friend is coming by later today to pick up the back two pots with multiple plants in each....

this plant is looking damn good to me no rusty spots like some of the other's

this one looking just as good.

this guys in the deal middle of the light he might be gettin to much light, note the droopy leaves, not a big deal still looking good to me

this one here is the one with the rust spots, there not too bad but im not sure whats causing it?

here is another shot with all the plants, i added some cfls i had layin around.

so how are they looking? any suggestions on training or topping? do they look healthy to you? any idea about the rust

new picture

all the plants

the 2/5 apes sprouted just got done with there first true set of leaves, not much to look at now but if you rub the leaves with your finger you get a distinct fruit smell compared to the skunky smell of the bagseeds.

i've been watering with ff grow big (1 teaspoon per gallon) and ff big bloom (liquid ewc, guano 2 tablespoons per gallon and the plants love it, no burns expcept when i spill nutes on the plants (learned not to spill nutes on plants) and they are all really short and bushy. I am going to order a grow tent as soon as I can, that has a fan and filter- all in all my plan with that is to get my grow dialed in with the tent because of better light reflectivity and better circulation and supposably light proof so maybe I can leave the closet door open.

here it is let me know what you think about it before I order it.

edit: also I have decided to take the 2 pots in the back with the multiple plants outdoors in the woods since my friend never came back and got them, so be sure to check back for out door pics in early june baby! I have grown outdoors before and the ones that the deer don't eat get HUGE so stay tuned! :rasta:

I'm really not satisfied with the outcome of this grow. Now is it the bulbs? Not sure, but I have been growing for a while. There is always a time in any plants life where it hits that blast off phase and really packs on the weight. This is what I experience during pretty much every hps grow I have done. But for this grow, it never happened. Sure the buds are nice and all, but they never just started gaining serious weight like when I grow with hps in flower.
Next grow I'm going back to cmh in veg and 2 or 3 weeks of flower, then I'm replacing with hps and finishing.
Peace.
P.S. This is not to say that I have not seen some pretty nice grows with cmh. I will say this though, there seems to be an amazing amount of resin on both strains with these bulbs that started very early in flower. But, the jury is still out for this grower.
Peace out

From everything I've seen with CMH, I'd say you've just hit the nail on the head greenisgold, i.e. CMH until the last half of flowering, then switch to HPS for the bud explosion!

With HPS in flower, my buds have always been bigger than everything I've seen flowered completely with CMH. You can get more resin from the genetics, but not the huge tops you can get with HPS.

I'd love someone to prove me wrong, but all the CMH buds look tiny in comparison to what I've experienced with a good & new 250W/400W HPS bulb.

Peace

Never wait until soil is bone dry, always water before that time. It looks to me like they are under watered. Water the heck out of them wait 4 hours and snap a pic.

Day 20 from sprout:

They were watered and nuted yesterday and have perked up, im also keeping the closet door open now when the lights are on, keeps temps around 70 instead of 80

i watered with 2 drops of superthrive and 2 table spoons of liquid EWC and guano (ff BB) and 1 teaspoon of ff grow big thats what they've been getting since they were small, so i haven't seen any burn except when i spilled nutes on the leaves. actully the first true set of leaves (not the round green one but the 1 fingered leaf) is turning yellow and fell off some of the plants does that mean i need nitrogen or does that mean they are just useing the energy from the bottom leaf at the top of the plant.

here is today

comepared to yesterday

i say i like this superthrive stuff... works pretty good.

also i added 50w of cfl for the middle

look how close the node spacing is on this plant.
LOL. Talk to me about the internode spacing 3 or 4 weeks from now... Alot changes. But things are looking real nice. I have done the bulb musical chairs routine as well. I would switch between HPS to MH every week.

Norcal  Seems like heat is part of the problem and air exchange and a few other things need to be in check. If your gonna leave your door open when the lights are on maybe put your fan outside the door to blow fresh air in and onto the plants. If you look at the second pic some of the plants seem to have burnt edges and maybe flush out with straight ph water since you may have a little salt build up. It could'nt hurt. But I'm not sure if you said you had a blower pullin in fresh air but if not for sure put your fan outside when the doors opened because they need alot of co2 to do their thing. By no means am I a pro and this is just a little help and I hope it can help

art: i just have an oscilating fan blowing on the plants no inline fan or ducting...

the nutes i give are 1 tablespoon grow big and 2 tablespoon of big bloom (fox farm) and 1 drop superthrive per gallon.

Vol Funk: They don't look burnt to me maybe you just gotta be here to see them for yourself, i have tip burn but that is good it lets me know i am giving them max nutes i guess i can ease off nutes for a while though.

here are my outdoor plants
sorry about the low quality they are camera phone pics...

NorCal - If you are using tablespoons of Fox Farm, you're using too much and you will eventually experience nutrient lockout due to PH fluxuation. I have experienced it myself as I use the same nutrients. If I were you I would water them with PURE DISTILLED water the next time you water them. And soak the soil, letting the water flow through the drainage holes.

Then I would continue to give them 1 or 2 TEAspoons of Fox Farm Grow Big. Giving them Bloom is only benificial when they are seedlings and you should give them a VERY light dosage. The high Phosphorus levels in a Bloom formula helps to stimulate root growth.

I high recommend that you set up inline exhaust in that cabinet, with passive intake. You will need this during flower as temperatures will be higher than they are now with less air movement. Also, the smell, but you don't seem to be concerned with that.

This is sound advice I suggest you take. Your plants are alive and growing as marijuana is a resiliant plant. But if you take these simple steps it will change your grow (yield, quality) IMMENSLY! Good luck.
