What's new

Does this girl look familiar?

I started a handful of UFO bagseeds & out of the 10 girls I'm flowering now, this beautiful red-head was the most unusual -

One other was light pink & all the rest had white flowers - about 3 weeks into 12/12. She definately has some sativa in her, but was wondering if she looked familiar to anybody here.
I'm still in kindergarden when it comes to growing, but I took 4 clones from her just in case she turns out to be a good one.
Anybody?

looking good, smart talking clones from her you might have the next elite, if it turns out to be a killer smoke

Believe me, if she & the other trolls living underneath the stairs in their trailer park fluoro townhouse actually make it, I might be able to grow some "real" strains after my closet & I get dialed in. Had one with varigated green/yellow leaves that's hiding behind my lillys outside now - the 6 white girls remind me of some of the widow varieties I've seen here, but didn't get a chance to smoke any of it so we'll see.
Couldn't resist & kept 1 squat indica looking male just in case I want to try making some seeds too. Man, is there a lot to learn!

sladan -
I'd be shocked & amazed if I had those kind of genetics with bagseed. I guess I was expecting the same kind of plants I grew years ago from Mexican commercial bagseed - mediocure sativas - but these girls look WAY more interesting - I hope they survive my ham-fisted, fluoro style of gardening...

Yeller - Don't be surprised by the quality of your bagseed genetics! many of the mexi growers are using Dutch and Canadian genetics to grow out new strains that don't take nearly as long as their homeland landraces do. They have been buying quality seed and trying to improve their products for the US market. It is basically greed and they want to put as much product on the market as possible. They have seen such a big push especially here in Cali of folks growin their own that they can't compete without it. The plants you have will be impossible to genetically identify but you can guess all day long. Great looking girls and if they make you, the grower happy with pride - Thats all you really need imo. Keep growin and good luck with the girls. They look great whatever they are.

Rainman - Thanks for up-dating me on the mexican situation - you're exactly right (that I could guess all day long) but the proof will be in the smoke, for sure. It is really exciting for me to get back into growing after many years, although I never stopped putting plants in dirt, these girls are a joy to behold everyday (along with my 2 dogs!) If my clones root successfully then I'm on my way to a continual harvest.
I really appreciate all the help & information that the people here on ICMag have provided me - i'm taking photos along the way so if i don't screw up, i'll have the "poor man's" grow journal together in 6 weeks or so.

whole plant shots and grow details would help to compare structure etc.. but guessing at random plant pics about their origin, mostly are shots in the dark comparing to other plants one person has seen.

verry pretty pics!
Peace, bub.

Now, since it doesn't really matter any more, I might as well post a couple of bigger photos of the girls.
The redhead was a fake - she washed her hair over the last 4 days & it is now filled with white hairs...

The white girls are lookin' pretty jive - all about 18" - 24" tall & still stretching a bit -

They're all in 4 gal. buckets that I cut down to 3 gal. & they show signs of my experimental nutes, CFL burn & probably PH fuckedupidness. Gave 'em some more new FFHF soil & actually now I have a real bottle of GH Florabloom. They look like they might finally settle down & get to work as long as I keep them on the payroll.

Just harvested her today & thought some updated pics might be in order -
final view

bud shots

and in conclusion I think I ended up with a lemon kush strain - she started out smelling like pine/lemon citris & graduated to a heavenly mango/lemon flavor. Sucessfully seeded her lower flowers with a stout male & got a nice bunch of light, tiger-striped seeds. The clones I took mid-flower rooted slowly but finally caught on in 2 weeks to produce 3 of these amazing (to me) bushes with tons of bud sites.

For my first time growing in many years, I'm elated at finding this strain. She won't be out of the drying box for another week & I want to jar-cure her for at least 2 or 3 weeks before I try smoking a bowl - but I think I have around 3 oz's of pure heaven from her alone. The other girls gave me about 4.5 oz's after drying.
Can't wait to see what the bushes bring...

Thanks Haze - The gods were smiling on me for this one. Started out with 3 - 4 foot shop lights, added 2 - 65W Fluorex security CFL's a month later and in the end got gifted 2 old, but working 400W HPS's that I finished them off with. An old friend saw the other girls in my outdoor flower bed & gave me some AK47, Bubblegum & NL clones that are just about finished veggin', so between my 2 crops it should be a great summer!

just grew out a bagseed seed from some decent smoke and mine turned purple too. this one finished in 8 weeks and tasted pretty dieselly actually although I never smoked any diesel. Mine lost alot of purple later on around the 6 week mark but still alot of purple in the bud.

G-man, (Ya gotta love fluoro's - didn't we all start out with them back in the 80"s?)
This girl started out maroon, went to pink, bleached out to white, then came back to a faded rose color at the end. Glad I got seeds & clones from her! Wouldn't it be a pisser if in 4 weeks of curing she turned out to be a dud? But.... mango, lemon.. I just love airing out the mason jars every morning - I hear that a good cure is everything - hell, just talk to a couple of expensive cigar smokers & they'll tell you all about curing plants & tobacco quality...
Your girls look great. Toward the end of flowering I decided to shave back the fan leaves on mine & I don't think it screwed up her nute pick-up at all. With the bushes I got going now, I should probably do a scrog of some sort, but I like being able to take the plant out & selective prune each branch. Locking them on to a grid just doesn't give me enough hands on, especially since I'm just gettin' back into this after many years.
