Hi guys, back after a hellacious work sched. and longer than normal winter.....4 deg colder than normal, and more cold and snow/sleet to come this weekend. More proff of global bullshit! I had plants sittin' on the back deck almost a foot tall last year at this time. Whatever, got approx 100 started 2-6 inches tall in the sun room. All get natural light (cloudy) and some High output flouros. Most are bred from last year. Will def. provide pics-got a new cam. Stay safe all, my five+ pounds from last season are gone except for a little to get me through the summer with my buddys.

Yes, my beans have been started and seedlings are looking good. Went out today for second scouting trek. One more outing should lock in the sites.

Found a freshly cleared site with the trees and branches used as a barrier at one end. No where near my sites but good to know where to avoid. With 350 acres of dense hardwoods there are only so many places suitable and secure. :frown:

As to "feral" hemp........during WWII, many midwestern farmers grew "rope" hemp for the U S Navy. The hemp seed oil was used in paint. Pollen can be carried by wind, birds and insects for miles and miles. Just one more issue for us growers.

Our biggest issue is security. My cover is "nature lover" complete with guides (birds, wildflowers, mammals, fossils) and binoculars. No hunting allowed at my sites. Protected public lands. My protection from deer is netting. 7' X 100' for $15. Best of all, it is black and almost invisible. That's great security 2 ways.

In 6 months, all the blood, sweat and tears will result in a GREAT 08!

Today's discovery

There are no victories without conflict, no rainbows without storms.

Its time to start moving some girls out, temps are starting to stay above the frost now (finally). Seemed like winter just didn't want to let go this year. We have had a good wet spring around my parts, hope we keep getting rain regularly so less watering is required.

I've had 4 flowering plants die due to a sudden drop in temperature. I just put out 8 more a few days ago, and I have yet to check on them. Hopefully they're doing well. Things are starting to green up well now in my area.

For anyone just getting out this week, find a log or fallen tree and roll it over. You'll have a good section of weed free dirt to grow in.

I just put my seeds in the ground. Planning on checking them out for the 1st couple of weeks and then leave them alone until July or August. I'll remove the males, give em a good feeding and come back sometime around Halloween.

There was a 3 inch cent-a-peed but not much else. Sorry, I was abscent from school on insect spelling day.

That's a good call too.

Gotta bump this thread, cant have the Midwest on the 3rd page. The girls are looking good and some will be seeing their new home soon. Muddy and still raining around my parts. I'm not complaining YET, but it could slow down a little, I have a few spots that flood occasionally if we keep getting rain.

Any C-99 cross works well for me. Likes good Midwest black dirt and finishes around 2nd week of October before hard freeze occurs. Good speeder buzz also. It is one of my favorites!
Good Luck Boevo,

I'm begining to think I started the seeds too soon. WIll check on progress next weekend. I figure 2 weeks is enough time for the seeds to crack. If nothing, I'll drop a few more seeds.

I'm defietly ready for sure. I got some clones rooting and some seedlings going. I usually wait until about June until I start putting out anything. By then weather is warmer. They still get big enough with a good 2 months of veg before flower. I'm putting out a nice batch this year. I was going to keep it simple with like 2 strains but it ended up being more. Here are the strains I'm running under the midwest sun this year.

Clones:
White Russian x Afghan

Seeds:
C99 x Deep Chunk
Northernberry
Strawberry D x Deep Chunk
K2 x Lavender
Jack Herer x Afghan
