26 percent humidity too low?

in my Flowering box the temp was like 87 degrees and the humidity was down to 26%...I've been struggling to keep the temps down, but the plants down seem to do not bad at all around 86ish, but the humidity, I'm not sure about. Any suggestions? should I go out and get a humidifier? it's around 36% in my veg box as well

I would worry less about low humidity and more about the high temp...my room ranges from 15-40% RH all through the winter and no problems.

How far along are you in flowering? The RH is going to be lower when you first start out but as flowers develope and grow the RH is going to jump. Does the tips of the leaves look like they are drying out?

What Mr Hoffman said. 36%? Sounds like a rainforest in the wet season to me.

I would try to get the temp around 75 if possible, 68 to 70 is ideal. As far as the humidity like mentioned before when they start packing on more buds it should rise. As long as the leaves don't look really dry, I wouldn't worry.

Good luck!

All temp issues aside in flowering your looking for 40% or lower on your RH. Vegging plants your looking for around 60% RH and clones and seedlings like it best at 80-100% RH. Now on the flowering if your flowering a strain that has really full tight flowers your gonna want the Rh closer to 20% so as to avoid mold issues, this of course is more important towards the end of the cycle.

Now for temperatures. That's a little different story. As far as cobain said. A lights on temp of 68 would have me moving the lights closer. But it is acceptable. The temperature of your room is ultimately up to you. Dj Short said the ideal temp. is 72. Others say 78. The only thing truly agreed upon temperature wise is that if your temps are hitting 90 it's time for you to do something. So here's my take on the temperature ranges you should be shooting for. In flower your looking for 70-80 with not really much more than a 10 degree shift from day to night temps. The little ones like it a little warmer at about 80-85 with higher humidities, whether it be seedlings, clones or just some plants getting their veg on. Now you don't need to heed my advise but I assure you that it is sound. I hope that this sheds some light on your questions and concerns on this matter:wave:

YES! thank you all...they're still early in the flowering stage...I killed one of the lights since I found the last male today and figured I didnt need as much...the temp with all lights off is around 72....my Trainwreck plants dont seem to mind the temps, they're doing better than ever, the bag seeds are surviving, I suppose....I think it's time to order seeds again...could anyone recommend a strain that does well with higher temps, but stays pretty short?

Mandala strains do really well in high temp situations. I've had spikes of 95 with no signs of heat stress from both the satori and the #1, I hear they all do well with heat stress with the exception of the Hashberry, who's temps need to be a little more maintained and also require very low RH at the end of flowering.

All of what shutter has said is right on point, he is obviously a grower with a lot of knowledge and experience, follow his suggestions and you will do great.

Glad to hear you have the temps in the 70s, your plants will reward you for this big time in the end. Feel free to post some pictures of your ladies, sounds like your doing a great job!

I grew nirvana white rhino while expiriencing some temp problems, temps in the upper 80s and it held up really well and remained short. I know a lot of people look down upon nirvana beans because of their cheap price, but with a 3k flowering room I consistently yielded around 5 lbs every 70 days using this strain in a sog setup with about 150 plants and the quality was great. Just my two cents, I love helping other growers out anyway possible.

Well good luck sorry to ramble keep it up!

Yesterday, I came across a very small evaporative cooler (slant/fin kool zone) at a local thrift store. I bought it to cool the room, the jury is still out, if its going to cool the room 7-12 degrees as claimed. Whats interesting to me, its bringing the humidity up to room temp levels and fluctuating with them. A humidifier will only give you a 50% RH. If it doesn't cool the room by the 10 degrees I was hoping (I'm running one 400 & two T5's) I'll keep it, for the fan, filter and wick & the extra humidity I will never get from my humidifier... Peace
