Quick simple question about DWC temps

I have a quick question to ask about DWC. I was wondering what temperatures you can get away with in the grow room if your using a chiller and the nutrients/water temperature is perfect? Can you get away with hotter than normal temperatures when using a chiller? Just curious as I was thinking of doing one soon, but my temperatures will be in the high 80's, could be as high as 90 degree's at the canopy. Just curious if it will be feasible for me or not - thanks!

They can handle that temp, if you move a lot of air across the canopy, the bud may grow different from the heat, some strains react differently.

So it is more important to have the water temp low as compared to the canopy temp? I thought that since the roots were cool the rest of the plant could be a tad hotter than a normal plant growing in soiless mix. Is this true, or the cool water temp really doesn't do this for the plant? Thanks for you response so soon Haps!

as long as you keep your water temp right they will grow like any other plant(just faster). dwc temps need to be right or your crop will suffer. when you have 90*F temps though you will see a slow in growth(compared to ~85), unless your running co2. so i'd avoid running that hot. not to mention how difficult it is to keep the temps right for the root zone even with a chiller at 90*F. thats hot!

but if you got Co2..... now were talkin! i think 90* is the perfect temp. i've seen just ridiculous growth around there. when everything else is right too of course.

either way good luck dude, summer sucks with DWC in my experience.

TGT you gonna run co2? I've had my 1k's burning about 20 inches from the tops with no issue, but my chiller is a 1/2hp and i can keep the water at 66-67 with no problem.

It would make sense that if the root zone is nice and cool the plant can take some extra heat but who knows? i wouldn't see a prob with thoes temps in DWC so long as you can keep the roots at proper temp. For the plant its self unless its a strain you ran at them temps before with no issues then i would run some co2 in there.. :joint:

Thanks for all the response. I am going to do a test with 1 - 5 gallon bucket in the next few weeks. I'll post it here and hopefully I can do a good job the first time around. If not - be prepared for questions lol. Thanks again!
