105w CFL, Heating ???

i'm looking to buy one of these
I'm growing in a cab thats just under 4 feet tall and about 2.5 feet wide, depth maybe 1.5, it made of wood.<------ FIRE HAZARD!
Does anyone have experience with these? how hot do they get?

I'm building a scrubber with a pc fan or a 4'' airworks fan which would be better to keep the temps low ABOVE the light.

why pay 35 bucks for 105w when you can get 10 23w cfls for that price and have 230 watts? just a thought. Also that is a 5k spectrum bulb which is kind of in the middle of the range, you should get 5 23w 3kbulbs and 5 23w 6k bulbs that why you have a mixed spectrum that you can use from veg to flower...

Well i only wanted to use the one socket and not have 10...... even tho the difference in Watts is a big one. *edit i am going to try a cooltube tho (see below)

they get warm to touch, but never so hot that you cant touch them. the surface area of the bulbs and the ballast is large enough that it spreads out the heat. I dont think I would want the bulb directly against tissue paper, but it could be right against wood and never be a fire hazard. Ive got a couple of those. :)

ahh thank u my man! nice to see that picture too! i'll make a cooltube like the one you have, i'll make it go right through the front to the back so the light gets fresh air from the outside pulled through the tube out the back. is that stuff clear PVC?

they are 6" acrylic tube. its kinda expensive at the places Ive seen online, like usplastics.com and others, and they have 6' minimums, I lucked out on a deal for mine. for one light I'd get (ebay) the round bread making glass thing you see everyone using.
