Sensi's American Dream (from start to finish)

Hello fellow stoners!

this spring I decided to try a little different way to grow. in the past I always grow big plants in big pots with a min. veg time of one month. well now I have a new closet and I'm going to break it in a little different.

I got this "special" American Dream cutting from a friend a while ago. it flowers quite fast and yields very well! I took 10 cuttings from my mom plant, and plan to grow them in 7 ltr pots from start to finish with a short veg time. something like S.O.G. style but without trimming all the side branches. we'll see how it goes..

here are the cuttings @ rooting stage

and a couple of weeks later we have nice and healthy root developement (no rooting hormones used! just plain water and some seaweed extract)

I placed them in their first little pots to get the roots a little bigger before going under the 400W hps. they are still under a 20W fluoro tube (lights on 24h)

maybe after a week or so I'm going to transplant to the 7 ltr pots and place them to the new closet (in the pic it shows six pots, but the final count is going to be eight)

400W Sylvania GroLux and a 3mm glass plate separating it from the grow area

I'll keep you all updated as soon as something new happens... great and green spring to everyone!

a little update...

we're now on week 1 of 12/12 with these American Dream cuttings. I transplanted them to the final pots about a week ago. I gave them about 9 days of veg time and then flipped the lights. original plan was to veg these babys at least two weeks, but I'm running quite a tight schedule here, so this will have to do.

they seem to be doing quite fine at the moment. still getting used to the 400W hps and new containers. I also had a little spider mite problem with these A.D's and with my other plants. those little bastards probably came with these cuttings since this is the first time I have to deal with this problem. I think I have it under control now, but it's really hard to kill all of them and lose all the eggs.

I'll keep ya all updated...

thanks for the comments guys!

things are looking good for the moment. these A.D's have been flowering for two weeks now.. they started blooming fast and are already putting one some resin  the strech was quite minimal, and they have about doubled in height. now some pics for ya..

here's all eight babys :)

..and a closer look

I have the original mom plant in flowering also, together with Paradise's Nebula and FMS Grapefruit.. A.D. mom is now on week 6, and looking pretty tasty :canabis: it's nice to know what to expect from these cuttings, so here's couple of pics:

more to come...

Happy the first of May to ya all! (a bit early, but I'm already drinking beer & smoking weed :) Vappu (the first of May in Finish) is a big festival day here in Finland, so everyone is starting to be in a good spring mood :)

I've been quite busy for a couple of weeks, but finally here's an update for ya!

this is week 4 and they are starting to perform really well.. resin is alreary there, and the buds are packing on some weight now. I still have some problems with these spider mites, but hopefully it doesn't get too bad.. as soon as the grow area gets a bit too dry, these bastards start to increase.

some pics:

resin@week 4

it's like growing buds straight from the soil :)

here's the mom plant sitting on my toilet seat when she was at week 5-6

she's been chopped now, but I dont have any harvest pics of her
:frown:

I'll try to update a little more often, but now it's time for some May day celebration! :friends:

Hey hows it goin. I just received 5 A.D. cuttings that are in semi poor condition. The grower who had them before was watering the cuttings with ph 7w/out nutes and he said he would feed with Advanced Nutrients at 1ml per liter at ph 5.6 in rockwool. Well I say thats the reason I got them in such poor condition. So what I did was pop them into 3 inch grodon rockwool cubes soaked at ph 5.5 for 30 mins. then popped the clones in and started misting with ph 6.0 and the wrapper of the grodon blocks said not to water the first 2-4 days, its been two. I don't have a humidity tent so I placed sandwich bags ever them loosly. They are under 150 or so watts of CFL 4 27w daylight and 1 42w warmwhite i think.
My question is when should I start feeding? I was gonna wait until the roots show out of the 3 in cubes, is that too long to wait?
Ill get some pics up in a few days and start my own log. any advice from experience would be awsome.

wow very nice.. you just inspired me to get a piece of glass between my reflector and plants. Spidermites are viscious, hopefuly whatever you spray them with can be misted off with water, to keep the smoke unharmed.

Hey guys,
A friend turned me on to no pest strips a year or so ago... Just put one in your flower room and poof, No more borg! Or any other bugs for that matter.
You can pick them up at lowes ect.
I have never seen anything as effective as the no pest strips! Good luck
