cali', I agree, in order for this to be a "true" side x side i should,ve used the same size pots.
You got that right about the soil staying wet for longer. Always does. I hit the Coc every other day, I tired letting it dry out once, just once, and i'll never do that again, burned the shit outta my plant! I read soemwhere around here where the same thing happened to someone else, go figure.
I'm about to cut clones off the one in Coco so i'm gonna put one in soil and one in Coco in the same size pots and see how it goes. Peace...evl :sasmokin:

watch, the new coco clone will surpass the older soil plant, lol. :headbange

lots of pro growers are switching to coco ,,1 friend who switched said it doubled his yield ,this was enough to convince some very pro growers who were in the room at the time to switch ,,no doubt you'll hear about it ....

rez and gratefullhead both made the switch ,,say no more :headbange

Your coco plant looks very nice.

But I also think you have neglected the soilplant.
The soil is very dry, and it seems to me it is not getting enough water.
While the coco is still wet.

It is much easier to water coco than soil, because it is easier to over/underwater soil then coco.

That said I love coco too, but soil gets often underrated I think because it is more difficult to keep perfect all the time.

lookmethis, the one in soil WAS NOT NEGLECTED! Anybody will tell you, soil must be aloud to dry ALITTLE in between waterings or else you'll overwater it.
That said, technically its impossible to do a true side x side because coco has to get more frequent waterings, just like a soil to hydro comparison isnt technically correct. BUT..A plant in coco, that gets watered the way coco is supposed to get watered, will outgrow a plant in soil that gets watered the way soil is supposed to get watered.
Got my clones in the cloner as we speak, when they're ready i'll try and do a more accurate comparison :joint:

I love a good side by side. My anecdote is not very scientific as I SUCK BALLS at soil growing but...

...I rooted two clones of each of my bagseed bitches and put one of each in dirt to keep as potential mothers, two weeks later I bought a coco brick and transplanted the rest to make my next flower batch. It took FOUR DAYS for the coco clones blow by the dirt clones that were sitting right next to them.

Soil/Hydro side by sides are nearly impossible because so many variables exist that is impossible isolate why one beats the other. I could never do a soil/hydro side by side as I know jack shit about growing in soil, I can barely keep my mothers green.

That being said, nice show!

I love coco, I more than doubled my yields when I swtiched to coco. We were discussing this usse at the 420 Cup and Hazyfontazy, THC4SIm, OJD and myself all said we more than doubled our yields over our previous soil growing.

im just making my 1st attempt at a transition to coco...in fact im literally putting my cheese which are currently in 4 inch Rw cubes in to 10 litre pots of Bcuzz coco in about 30 minutes time....
Im Hoping that the plants wont mind the 1st few feeds being normal vita link hydroponic nutes...as ive only got bloom coco nutrient right now(monkey juice).....none of the local growshops have the(vita link) coco nutes i wanted. It should be OK I hope, just til the vita link coir grow bottle arrives in the post anyway and Ill give em a flush out with that when it comes.....
That coco plant of yours is coming along great shakes eh evlme2..

Harry Gypsna, I dont think your cheese in coco will mind the vita link nutes. Infact, I've always used GH Flora series when i did soil and when i switched to coco i kept on witht the GH and they are doing fine.
When you do transplant them, stand back 'cause they are gonna GROW! I'm serious Harry, the growth rate in coco is unbelievable. You're gonna love it.
Post some pics, i've seen a few of your grows before and i expect nothing but good results from ya
