carbon smell, time for a change don't you think?

sup people,
I know carbon kills the smell of pot but lets face it, anyone who knows a little about growing knows what carbon smells like and therefore knows someone is growing so imho it is not completely safe. Having that said and I am sure I am not the only one who thinks that way, why don't they add another smell to it like orange for example. Anyone walking around your house smelling orange would be less likely to think you are growing than if it smells like carbon. I also wonder if cops can get a warrent if they smell carbon coming from your house but even if they can't it would be a good clue for them and trust me if they really want you, they will get your ass behind bars. Some neighbors are not dumb either, if they smell carbon they might suspect you are growing and so they can call the cops on you or just plan on breaking into your house.
I know some of you might think of the vaportek as an alternative to a carbon scrubber but believe me, they don't work, in fact they only cover the smell but you can still smell it. I have tried it so take my advice.

Can't believe they have never thought of this or mayve they did but can't add another smell to it for some reason

i dont smell my carbon filter exhausting into my attick, maybe when 1st fired up may have had slight charchol smell but that went away very fast

other than people using carbon filters who knows what it smells like? Not many. A bit too paranoid if you ask me.

^^^ Paranoia will destroy ya..... I blow thru my carbon filter instead of pulling thru it. Not the most efficient way, I know, but that's how it's set up.

Even with blowing the warm, stinky air thru the carbon....I don't smell it.

I've only been using my carbon filter for 1 full grow cycle now, but I can't smell anything at all from it, so I doubt that anybody else is going to notice any 'carbon' smell if they were in the same room where I have the grow cabinet.

If somebody is so worried about any 'carbon' smell, then they can just get one of those vaportek's or something like that and use it in addition to the scrubber.

Stinky carbon is prolly not a good sign. It shouldn't smell at all. My Can33 doesn't smell, nor do any of the myriad carbon filters in the several hydro shops I've been to. But maybe my nose just sucks

My can 66 + 427 cfm fan produce a very faint carbon smell. Very faint (charcoal smell). I am pretty sure all carbon filters have this very faint smell most people just don't notice it. That being said, if you smell a lot of carbon, something is wrong with your filter, time for a new one exactly.

no so called carbon smell here 2years running non stop.. Are you sure you havnt got carbon filters and ozone mixed up..

I just went and shoved my head in my exit hole to double check no smell at all.

I know what hes talking about I can smell carbon from mine as well. Its a can100 with a vortex 8" 747 cfm. When running the fan full blast I can smell carbon upstairs and the grow is downstairs. I dont vent it outside I just vent it into another room in the basement but even after 15 minutes the whole house smells like carbon. I was actually going to make a post about this because I wanted to set up a Veg room in the room its vented into. I wanted to see if the carbon smell was bad for plants. Hmm I just thought everyone experienced this carbons smell. I just started turning my fan down with a controller and its not so bad. Mine is brand new too so maybe it will go away after a few months of use. But if it is normal or not it sure does the job of removing that skunky smell.

I have a mountain air and a 8inch vortex at full speed, I have never smelled carbon. I do have a shitty sence of smell but no one else near my grow can smell anything.

slow your fan down if the air smells like anything. It isn't getting the chance to be scrubbed by the carbon.
