How long do plants keep growing taller into flower?

I'm almost at week 4 of flower and my plants seem to still be growing taller (They've already more than doubled,) and I'm really worried about them not having enough vertical room. I thought they were supposed to double in size during flower, so I'm hoping they're going to stop getting taller soon. Anyone know? I'm doing DWC w/600 watts if that makes a difference. Thanks!

I find that about 40% of the flower time is spent on stretch. If the plant is still growing vertically at 3 weeks you may have a 9 week strain. I would guess the stretch is just about over, if not you may be growing something that is very sativa and needs 10 weeks or longer, in which case you should consider bending/training.

My guess is that they stop the stretch this week.

Check the distance to the light first. Make sure you aren't too far away. That will cause unnecessary stretching in many varieties.

Bending the tops and twist tie-ing them to train them laterally is a good idea. I've done this with some "stretchy" varieties. Be careful that you don't break any of the tops...if the plant happens to be a bit more decidious (woody)....there's a greater likelihood it will snap when training....be careful, deliberate and slow....don't overdo it. If you're very concerned about breakage...let the plants dry a bit by delaying watering....until they lose enough hydrostatic pressure to wilt a wee bit....then they're easy to tie down. Of course water normally after you've accomplished your task...

It's also good to train your plants while vegging them....and will keep them a bit smaller vertically before you start flowering. I've noticed more bud development overall with plants I train.

You still have a week or more of stretch left most likely. Even after the stretch is done the plants will still grow even further vertically as it starts packing on the bud sites. Veg a little less next time if they are getting out of hand.

Depends on your strain. I'm having a growth spurt now, 15 weeks into flowering. My solution was to bend them over like Candy Canes and tie them to themselves.

I find my AK47 stretches the first three weeks and then slows to a crawl into the fourth. After that they bulk up and gain weight. Eight weeks and there done. Usually they grow about twice their height, but really it depends on how large you grow the plant. If I grow them small they will triple in size, but if grown a little larger they only double.
