1st grow looking for information

im about to start my 1st grow in a few weeks and ive been reading a lot through all the forums and i decided to go indoor soil im getting farmfox ocean soil and nutes and a 600w hps grow light just looking for any tips or common mistakes on a 1st grow or mayb even a few personal storys just trying to soak up as much info as possible so for any horrible typing im super baked havent been blazeing much last few days finishig a room add on the house

you should think about ventilation you wanna have good circulation in the room and a really good exhaust blower. i use ffof soil to i mix it 50/50 with peralite and soil to help the drainage and it gives the roots more air. how big of a space are you growing in? are you going to use an air cooled hood for your 600 hps? if so what one? iv only been growing for a few years so I'm still a new-be iv learned most of what i know just from reading the forms and i bought a few grow books.. i hope that helps a little good luck bro

The best advice i can give you is have fun, dont fret too much about doing things perfect, and to be honest i believe your first grows are all about making mistakes (not saying to purposely make them) and learning from them and having a good time growing your own herb.

I think now a days people seem to be too technical about growing weed when they first start, yah i agree do things right from the begining, but you aren't going to be a pro from the start and you are going to make mistakes.

i actually read through one of your threads a few days ago and took notes on your soil mix but thanks for the help im growing in my closet its 5' x 6' its a pretty big closet with plenty of room but i was thinking of actually building a grow box been looking through every1 elses grows for ideas got a few rough ideas on what im ganna build

the light i got is a air cooled ct600w grow light system that came with a 600w hps and mh bulb

Like dkmonk said have fun and use common sense. One other thing only fertilizer at half of reccomened doses until you're more famililar with the plants.

-Keep it simple.This is the best advice i can give.Simple soil growing with just 2 bottles of nutes (a veg and a flower if you wonder) can be effective if used well.
-Learn the basics and you can change to something else if not happy with the results.
-Dont kill those males too early.They wont produce pollen for a while after you spot the first male preflowers.You can be wrong,and chop a female.But even better,you can try different trimming methods,modular scrogging,stem crushing and other stuff you are worried to do to a mature female.You can try what can your strain take-overferts,heat,overwatering,underwatering.The list goes on.You can even learn taking clones and if succesful,you can abuse it other ways.No,this is not cruel.This is for the greater good
