skunk 1 redux

B

Bluebeard

I have an acapulco strain and the deep chunk afghan. I also have just ordered l. fritzman's santa marta gold and was thinking why not make a skunk #1 do over. Does anyone have any suggestions on which strains should be male or female or which phenotypes should be represented?

I would use females of the least consistant strain X males from the most consistant strains, thinking it is easier to judge the inconsistant females then inconsistant males.
Also with Indica's you need to be sure the male is high in THC only without lots of CBD. Unless you want CBD.

Naah, it´s all good...

Maybe it´s not helpfull anymore for the thread starter answering/suggesting, but it can be valuable info for others seeking answers to their questions :2cents:

Im talking generally, not this thread specified. However, Sam did offer an interesting & logical way to think for us hobby "breeders" who cannot afford testing different cannabinoids, so thank you for that Sam  At least it offered fresh view for me...

Sam,

I am so glad to hear you give that perfectly simple answer. In the mist of splitail dna analysis etc, etc, I have been telling Bluebeard, Raco, XYZ, OG Bub, & on & on that exact same thing for years & years & years. Will you guys back me up on this or what? :D

If you want a consistent male, then fritzman's SMCG is the one to chose a male from, it's been completely bottlenecked by many 1x1 crosses and as a result has no variation at all, the plants grow like clones - all the same.

I've done a fair amount of breeding with that SMCG using both males and females and abandoned all my work as all the crosses produced hermies in the F2 generation, seems there is a recessive intersex trait lurking in that SMCG.
