I'm running Growtronix right now, 2nd run with it. Mainly use it to monitor although it can be dialed to have a completely automated run very easily if you have the $. Nothing better than to jump online anywhere and look at your room numbers, ie: temp, humidity, res temp etc. The whole system is very user friendly and the guy that wrote the program, DJ, is always there providing one on one support. Overall a very good system.

Growtronix is the TRUTH!!! I mainly use it to monitor door sensors, CO2, Temp and Humidity but I was looking to upgrade to the PH, TDS control in the near future. For the price and piece of mind it can't be beat. It will send me a custom text message if the door of my room is opened or if I'm running low on CO2. The only drawback is since it uses a computer,if your computer restarts for some reason, you'll have to manually restart the program. I wouldn't use it to control any major variable like my lighting (using timers) but aside from that its an awesome tool.

As far as ph control you have to use peristaltic or dosing pumps for a lower flow rate. You'll also probably want to dilute your ph solutions as well in order not to overdose.

I'm not away from my grow for long times without a sitter, however I let it go 2-3 days at a time on a fairly consistent basis. I'm sure i could go longer but I'm pretty anal about checking on my grow.

Clowntown just posted a way to ensure that Growtronix runs automatically if your computer reboots, thats all.....I will say that you'll learn a bit about basic programming playing around with GT

Is there a way to access ppm, temp. etc through the internet and change them while your at another location?

Yup you can monitor everything from any computer and make any changes that you need. The system is completely flexible....but i will say to make changes to ph and ppms you'll need a very good(ie expensive pump), dosing pump. However if you are planning to leave your grow for a long period of time the text message feature is priceless....

Whats the best possible dosing pump you recommend? Excuse my ignorance, i'm new at this automated ph control shit. I'm doing a search after writing this... dosing pumps

hey fatsack, looks like you and hu$tle already answered your questions. hu$tle made a very good suggestion, use a seperate timer for your lights and pump (if applicable). the system is stable but if your pc restarts i would be concerned.

The growtronix system is not stable. Its buggy as hell!

I have one here that is next to useless as it dies every few days. You cannot rely on it period.

Notice his forum support board is down and has been for weeks.

Go figure.

well...your right the system can lock up sometimes and require a restart, which is why i noted in an earlier post use a seperate timer for lights and fans and use growtronix just to monitor. as a remote monitoring tool or grow journal record keeper i think its great.

the forum has been down for a bit but i have emailed him since its been down and he gets right back to me.

definetly not a system to bet 8 weeks on but a very useful tool imho.

Well it isn't sold as a simple monitoring tool, its sold as a complete control/automation system. It ain't all that.

If you need to use separate timers for fans and lights then why bother at all. If all you want to do is measure temp over a set period of time then there are hundreds of options that aren't exagerated and oversold and are simpler and cheaper.

Growtronix does NOT perform as advertised. The forum is down as it don't get people posting on it telling you exactly how it is that way.

So the general consensus is that this system CAN'T be trusted to run a grow as advertised?

I've been planning a fairly large sealed room ebb/flow bucket grow with this controlling EVERY aspect of the room including: Pumps, Lights, CO2, A/C, Heating, Nute Dosing, R/O Water top off, literally EVERYTHING. Someone would be at the grow at all times but if the software locks up it could still be 24 hours before i discover it as I will be attempting to stay out of the room for as long as possible.

Well I can't believe the negative stories yet, not till I try it. Is anyone using it succesfully? Imagine making a hole up in a mountain somewhere and setting up growtron to do everything for you and you only have to visit once a month. LoL. That would be cool. If you do have visitors, the system will tell you. You just won't show up after that. LoL
