What's new

Golden Pineapple by JLP

I figured I would start a thread to rave about my first (hopefully not last) experience with the work of JLP. I received a 5 pack of Golden Pineapple (c99-pineapple pheno x Golden Skush (hindu kush x sk1) ) as a freebie in an order from the bay...as soon as I saw them I dropped them in water and got the party started :headbange I came up with 1 female and put her into flower at about day 40 from seed. She was FIMed at roughly day 25 and I did some simple LST on the day I threw her into flower.

Here are the rest of the stats:

Pot: 3 gallon
Medium: Soil FFOF mixed 2.5:1 with fine perilite
Nutes: Fox Farm Complete line, Cal/Mag, Hygrozyme
Flower Time: 60 or 61 days not exactly sure
Ripeness: Cloudy w/ 10% amber
Yield: 147g dried and desticked - this is no joke

Day 1 Flower

Couple weeks in :rasta:

Harvest Day

Dried

Starting at about week 2 of flower, this plant reeked of fresh ruby red grapefruit. Towards the end of flower the grapefruit smell was more of an undertone, with the predominant odor being skunky/musty. After a 7 day dry and subsequent jarring, all of the sudden there is a pineapple smell (not fresh cut, but more what a whole uncut fresh pineapple smells like) with a growing skunk odor. So, I caved in today and although it is only day 4 in the jar, I had to try the pineappley goodness. First joint, I can tell with some more cure this weed is going to taste amazing, smooth already. Nice strong up high...I want to get shit done. 2nd joint, high begins to turn into stone, I still want to get shit done, but maybe I should sit down and come up with a game plan. 3rd joint...just woke up from an unplaned nap and now the day is half over

This strain is to date, the largest yield I have ever pulled from a plant in dirt

Thank you JLP

pretty much covers it :jump:

Thanks everyone for taking a look. I wish I would have pulled a couple clones before flower...I would have a nice mom by now. Instead, we reveg :bashhead:

Once I get some clones, it will be interesting to see how she does in my SOG beds.

Thank you for clarifying...it's been awhile since I had the seed pack, but now that you mention this it is a coming back to me :bashhead:

So I will revise my praise as follows...Wallyduck, kudos on the wonderful cross and JLP, magnificent extrapolation of Wally's work.

Props to AlbertHoffman for the grow,Wally for the GP and JLP for the cross,That is some Fine looking Buddage! I never tried a Pinapple C99 only a Grapefruit/lemon pheno and a real hazy one, sounds delicious though.
Whats the high like? I have tried a C99 x POG which was a great yielder as well but had a more hashy=hazey taste and reek with no citrus in there really. The high from that is great though, very up,but not keep u awake high, like some hazy hybrids. Great work fella's :jump: :joint:

Absolutely beautiful grow!

Seeing these has helped me make up my mind about growing trees instead of many small ones in sog this time around!

Thanks again for stopping by everyone...funny how that works when you put JLP in the title :rasta:

Lou - damn right she's a keeper...wish I had more going right now.

Londinium - This is actually my 2nd day smoking it and I find it to have a strong up high, that is great daytime weed (burn one every 3-4 hors), that can be overdone, causing a more narcotic stone. Taste is not all there yet as it has only been cured 4 days, but I would call it sweet (not pineapple), fresh, light hashy.

Nugz - lol I'm actually a sog grower, but when starting new strains lately, I have been starting them in dirt because they are easy to move around. By the way, this was not a tree by any means, I don't think it was even 3' tall from floor to tip. It's only in a 3 gallon pot. Keep in mind that genetics play the big role, all I did was make sure that environment, lights, nutes were not limiting. FYI, this is without CO2
