Lucas Formula Flushing Questions...

hello everybody, this is my very first post here and i'll have to excuse you guys for my stupid question: how it is possible to run a plant without flora gro? i mean bloom and micro = no nitrogen

i just started growin in bubbler with GH nutes and im feeding the plant as the official GH sheudle says, but the Lucas' formula seems very cool, and many ppl use it

so if anybody could answer my question i'd be greatfull

they say theres enough N with the micro i think? or combined you have enough N for the plant...Either way, i use the Floralicious grow from time to time but have never purchased nor used the floragrow

Nitrogen is Micros main ingrediant. it's the 5 in 5-0-1 (that's NPK not Lucas)

12 gallons of nutes in an 18 gallon DWC with a single T*Haze x Skunk#1. It was locked in at an EC of 1.05 for a month. Unfortunately, I'd also locked in at a pH of 5.6 and that was too low. 0-5-10 provides me an EC of 1.6. I diluted that to 1.4 which was still too rich (EC climbed,pH dropped) I'll try 0-4-8 next. My current plan is to run barely rich with a slightly high pH so that pH falls without EC climbing too much. My plant is happier when it swings through the pH range.

I don't want to seem cruel but, are you just making stuff up? READ THE LABELS! GH FloraBloom has Magnesium.

im not making up, (i can send u a foto) my label says:
P2O5 - 5%
K2O - 4%
and nothing else, but on the GHE website its written that flora bloom really have Mg
im from Poland and the labels are translated into polish with few mistakes, so it is possible that they forgot to mention about Mg in the nutrient

Couple questions.

Let me see if I have this right. With the Lucas formula, it is 0:1:2 ratio NO MATTER WHAT WEEK i am in, Right?

Just a made up senario here: If i am running 5 micro and 10 bloom in flower, I would run this from week #1 right through week #8?

No additives at all? Kool bloom, Flouralicious, Diamond Nectar, ect. Nothing else but the 2 base nutes?

Seems to easy and cheap to be true.

yes Lucas says 0:1:2 from the beginning, but some people use also grow for veg
micro+bloom have all the needed nutes, so u can run it with no additives
and becouse it's so easy and cheap so many ppl use it

Help with mixed scrog grow flush

I am new to scrog growing and it appears uninformed as well as well
250 watt HPS and 95 watt fluro
20 x 30 inch cab
Using GH - Lucas ratio
Plants have a rockwool root base and clay pellets

I have 3 different strains in my scrog
Atomic Haze = Flowering 9 - 10 weeks
G13 – Haze – Diesel = Flowering 10-13 weeks
Mazar = Flowering 8 weeks (56 days)

When do I flush or should I even flush at all?? I am at day 50. My last flush was at day 42 with clearex.

And more importantly how to harvest this mix of different flower times?

I can see that the mazar are getting really close, with a day 56 flower, but the trics are still clear.

The others are still immature and the buds are not near as full.

I've had some experience with Lucas formulam, and kept up for a while on his thread at another website. Lucas says to use full strength nutrients under HID lighting. 0-8-16. When vegging under flouros use 0-5-10. So you use 0-8-16 or as close as you can get without burning your plants for the ENTIRE time they are under HIDs. The idea is not to exceed 2.0 ec or 1450 ppm. I'm sure that there are some strains that like a little less or can handle a little more, but you should be able to get close.

Lucas currently uses Floranova Bloom at 8ml/gal or 5/gal under flouros.

If you shoot for a stable 2.0 ec or 1400 ppms you're on the right track. There are ZERO additives in the Lucas traditon.

The idea is that you are providing what is needed for these plants to be healthy and no more. Additives fix environmental problems and if your environment is dialed in there should be no need.

As for flush, if you keep the ppms down below 2.0 the theory is there is no need for a flush and as stated before unless it's a nutrient retaining medium like soil or coco, you are just depriving your plant of nutrients during it's biggest growth spur.

You definitely won't grow record breaking yeilds using Lucas formula, however you will be able to grow good medicinal plants to maturitiy.
My experience has been 6-10 oz under 400 watts(over .5 grams a watt not bad but not incredible) I've run this formula for entire cycles without res changes by adding back nutrients to keep the EC at 2.O. Great for beginners and cheapskates. One quart of floranova bloom can last for over 2 cycles in a 20 gallon res.

Maybe. This is my first DWC. Everything I read said DWC uses less nutes than other methods and to look out for nute burn. Other reading suggested Thunks like low levels of nitrogen compared to other plants. Then there were the EC readings which said the plant was happy ... Being my first DWC, I've nothing to compare to. Wilma's grandaughter is already started upstairs in a closet. Maybe I should try an 0-8-16 run for comparison purposes.

Of course, if it does produce more, where would I put it? I'm close to max capacity now. I've been daydreaming of a custom res that would allow for the same volume while being 8 inches shorter. A cool tube could reclaim another 4-6 inches ...

I'll give it a whirl and see what happens. I've taken a year to establish a feeding regimen using GH nutes and most of their additives. Pretty complicated schedule with every 7 day nute changes, ect.

I'm curious if it may be overkill and it could be as simple as 0:1:2 from day 1 to day 60 / 65.

I'll post back when I find my results for those wondering like me.

A recent harvest of some "Red Hair Skunk" from Nirvana. That is the yeid from ONE plant. A little over 1.25#s under a single 600 watt HPS for 90 days. Grown in a 3.5 inch net cup using a DIY aeroponics unit. (sorry about the blur)
