Hi,

I use nutrients called "advanced hydroponics of holland" in a DWC.

its a 3 part mix.

n/p/k
Grow: 25-12-50
Bloom: 0-50-35
Micro: 45-0-10

I always followed the guide on the bottle, but after getting airry buds i started reading some of the "Formulas" and realized that they are totally contraverse to what i did.

the first 4 weeks of flower i used the Bloom mixture which is
1 part grow
2 parts bloom
1 part micro

70-112-95 ? lol i dont understand..
(45-150-115 would be the end-flower mixture...)

I read, that at week 4/5 flowering you should have something like a 0-40-80 solution.

How do i mix nutrients to something like 0-40-80? wouldnt i need pure N/P/K ? and is it safe?

The nutrients confuse me the most about Hydro.. and i guess i always ignored them because of that.. but the time has come to understand!!! please help if you can at all.

Thanks alot, ~peace

I started with 3 part GH years ago and tried to do it according to NPK. I found it was easier if I dropped the Grow bottle. 15 years later, it's called the Lucas Formula. Who knew? I don't see how you'll hit your numbers with the nutes you have.

Are you sure it isn't your light or strain? What are you growing and what are they under? Temps? pH?

Hi FreezerBoy,

I dont quit understand, I am guessing that my 3 part nutes have the same content/ratio as the 3 bottles in everyones growroom?

Is it possible to use my nutrients according to this "Lucas Formula" ?

I googled it and came across some material, but i cant imagine getting the solution ratio values they listed, with my nutrients!

My Lr2 plants are beautiful under 400w, but they tend to finish in 10-12 weeks instead of 8.. and the bud is airy (after following the bottle).. but i just want to learn how to properly and intelligently use my nutrients before i start some really nice strains (haze 19 x Skunk, Ole 47, Belladonna, i got em all comming)

GH is fairly close proportionally. Micro 5-0-1, Bloom 0-5-4. Lucas formula is not NPK but Grow-Micro-Bloom. It reads 0-5-10 for veg and 0-8-16 for flower. In other words, no Grow formula at all. The numbers are ml per gallon using GH. It's better to think of it as the Lucas Proportion (1:2) Different plants eat differently. Use EC meter and/or pH to double check the nute strength. EC up, pH down=too rich. EC down, pH up=too lean.

Question is, how do AN and GH compare strength wise? GH bottle says 1 to 3 teaspoons a gallon each depending on formula. If AN uses the same, you're golden. If not as long as you know ml per gallon you can figure out a conversion formula.

Ok, thankyou so much for clearing that up.. its so simple. The values you posted are very close to mine so i will assume its ok to go ahead and use those formulas with ml/gallon :D .

thanks again, ~peace
