What is the one book every grower should read?

If you could suggest one book for a novice or even a veteran grower what would it be? A google search will turn out hundreds of books that claim to be the "ultimate growers guide" and a search of this forum will also. What's your top 3?

i don't buy books...anything that is related to mj...i keep far away from my house and person...just another form of para for LEO to find and slap you with.

but I straddle the fence of paranoia so most seem to think...but I stay alert and safe...

just my opinion

While ICM is an invaluable resource, there is value in a something that has an index, is well written, and is a comprehensive treatment of the subject that provides a throrough grounding. And sometimes, it's hard to beat paper for retention of information when you are reading.

I'd also add that when it comes to identifying deficiencies and diseases, Cervantes' Bible is pretty hard to beat and with the illustrations provided, is a better reference than even ICM is (and that's saying something).

Some interesting comments....

Some interesting comments....

A book is not the answer, but it can certainly form a basis from which to explore.....

And, its portable, and you dont need to plug it in.......
does date quickly though, and thats where the internet comes in....

So, to have a stab at the question:

I'll list the books I refer to often, in no particular order.....

Hemp Diseases and Pests: management and biological control. McPartland, Clarke and Watson.

Gardening Indoors with CO2. van Patten, Bust and LaSpina.

Gardening Indoors with HID Lights. VanPatten and Bust.

The Cannabis Grow Bible. Green.

Marijuana Grow Basics. Cervamtes.

Marijuana Horticulture. Cervantes.

The Good Bud Guide by Albie.

Cultivating Exceptional Cannabis. Short.

Organic Marijuana Soma Style. Soma.

I have a wee book business is part of the reason for being so into books, and being a student is another: doing an MSc in Drug and Alcohol Studies.

Wow, nice to see Jorge alive, well and kicking!

And, a big THANK YOU from myself, and no doubt many others, for helping to spread the word...... your books have enabled in-depth understanding, and introduced many to the pleasures and joys of horticulture!

I've never lost the "wonder" of germination and then growth......... its truly magical.

Damn good to see Jorge, still moving around the forums! Thanks for all you've done man. Keep up the hard work. I can only speak for myself but I really appreciate your efforts. Keep that train a chugging.. WOO WOO!

I would suggest, the growers bible by Green and Marijuana Horticulture by Cervantes. I really like Marijuana Horticulture because it has tons of color pics especially useful for diagnosing deficiencies and certain diseases, I like to keep mine right in the grow room just for quick references..
