Well I guess The gallery is getting an overhaul and so its actually a GOOD thing that they are down for a bit...
on to bigger and better I guess
Anyhow things are going swell on the hydro side of the garden at the moment. the stickyberry is starting to get frosty and fill out...I can't wait to see what the outcome is like!!!!!
This system has really treated me well so far and I very highly recommend it to anyone looking for something simple and effective.
I havent shown any pics of the dirt side lately, but right now it is looking kind of bare. only 3 cindy pheno apollo 11 f2 clones in there doing their thing, they really didn't put on the weight this round (partly due to neglect :sad: ) and partly due to the cooltube that the light has to shine through, and partly due to the fact that the bulb is almost 2 yrs old...(I got a new bulb, but it was DOA...
)
Anyhow its no biggie..life goes on.. I have another bulb that originally came with my hood that isn't an enhanced spectrum bulb, but I think I'll plug it in for the next round...I'm actually thinking about replacing my whole dirt side with some more ebb and flow buckets ,,,this time using 4 or 5 stacks of 1 gal buckets and cutting veg time a bunch, see if I can get a scrog/sog done with only 4 feet of headroom.....

Gallery seems to be working again..
Heres a little paint diagram that I made that I Thought I have thrown up here before but...
There it is in a nutshell.
The pump turns on for 15 mins every 4 hours, pumping water up to the overflow line, and eventually overflowing through the overflow...got that?

When the pump shuts off the nutes drain back through the whole system (flowing backwards through the pump) back to the res.
The only thing diffrent from the diagram to how I am doing it now is I added a few small pumps for circulation and I also have an airstone in the res powered by an aquairium air pump and a small heater that doesn't really come on much to keep water at 72 deg.

Yea that drawing was just for you Dr. Dog, But I think it should help a bunch of people delving the depths to understand all the things going on with such a simple contraption.
I still have a bail of sphagnum and a huge bag of perlite...but I have plenty of houseplants around...I have a little plantation of spider plants...can't give em away fast enough

How much headroom are you working with? My dirt side has a 4 foot ceiling. I am going to see if I can pull off a mini 1 gallon bucket version with 4 bucket stacks in there..Things stay pretty cool with the 400 hps in the cooltube and the plants can get pretty close, I doubt it is going to do as well as this 2 bucket version though...I am actually quite astonished by how they took off as soon as things came together for them.
I wish it was easier to get pics of, but right now it is just a PITA, no room for a tri-pod so I can't use closeup lenses..tons of movement from the fans, bad lighting...ack
But they are frosting up nicely, and I think the floralicous is doing it's job, because the berry funk is in the air!

The whole contraption is 17.5 inches tall, so its goin to be tight..
Res holds 8.5 gallons.
Exact same thing as the other one, except on a smaller scale, with more buckets!! = less veg time!
I haven't tested it out yet, and by the time all is said and done I might go with 4 buckets instead of 5 depending on how things go...we'll see..

Anima Everything looks great, as always. I can't wait to see your new setup in action! I've always wanted to try hydro, but I just don't think I can commit to it right now. Too much crap going on, ya know? About the chart, I've seen it before, too. I think Core was the one who showed me. Or maybe it was MGJ? My A11's are finally in the dirt, and I'm keeping my fingers crossed for two girls.

1100ppm 5.7pH
