hey folks. thanks to XyZ, and dj short, i have a brand new project to work on.

i plan to try some pollen chucking of my own this summer and this sweet looking Berry male gifted to me is going to get it on with my favorite cut in my garden, my mutated but super resinous dj short f13 sweetheart.

below are some pics that i have been waiting for some time to upload. ya'll tell me what you think. he is just now starting to split open his nuts and drop some pollen.

mind you, i have never attempted ANY kind of plant procreation so this is purely a learning expirience. i hope to save some of the pollen for later crosses so any tips on that would be much appreciated.

great selection skills guys. im loving every minute of this. more pics of the berry ladies and blockberry ladies tonite.

let the orgy begin. saving pollen is pretty easy , just make sure you get all the pollen sacks out and any other green matter and put it in a moisture proof container(I use one touch ultra diabetic test strip containers) and keep it in freezer untill you need it, I do like the look of that male.

o.k....

heres the girls...
first up is the three blockberry sweeties. i must say that these babies are blooming way more aggressively than other strains in my garden... day 31

next up we have my favorite ever flavor. this mutated f13 is pumping resin out at an awesome rate and she smells soooo good. berry cream vanilla goodness.... this particular girl has already recieved the pollen treatment(yesterday i brushed her)

i truly hope i did things right. time will tell.

well, i think pollination was a success. the hairs on the subject buds are now withering. isnt that what i am supposed to look for?

Hey!!

Swampdank i hope you was succesfull, this berry male looks mighty sweet...im excited as hell to see what the F13 x Berry will give you.XyZ is to kind, isnt he?

For the male pollen: im in no means an expert in this but what i experienced is that the two most important things to keep male pollen viable is temperature and humidity = keep it dry and cool = maybe use silica gel and the fridge ;-).Before you store your pollen you should let it dry a bit to prevent mold, but i heard people say that they store their pollen directly without dryin it....so dont take my word for it as im only tellin ya what worked for me(twice in a lifetime so this never an proven method).I would wait till more expierenced people can tell ya more....i dont want to ruin your hard earned Berry pollen.

Keep up the inspiring work...Goldenseed

well, i shall try a few things that i have heard about. i put some directly into the freezer, maybe i need to get some of that silica gel. isnt that the stuff that says do not eat and comes in a new sneaker box?

i tell ya, there has to be a better way to collect this stuff. it seems that after all that work, i just ended up with a little smidget of pollen(i know a lil goes a long way but damn)

oh, i put a pinch of flour in with it(was i supposed to do that?) i think i read somewhere that this will stretch it out.

purc: please do bro. i might need ya round for this one

does anybody know how to tell if pollination was successful? i know there has to be telltale signs that the pollination was a success.

look for the pistils to shrivel and die back in a day or so. You will then notice the calyx's will begin to swell.

ok, i saw that. i tried to pollinate half the plant and leave the other half. i used a bag and pollen inside. let it marinate for 24 hrs and removed it( while keeping everything wet) now those hairs are shriveling so i think we might have seeds soon. time will tell.

Swamp, you are a lucky man!

That progeny is going to be very interesting stuff...

But, you won't know until those (hopefully growing) seeds are snuggled between two moist paper towels IF the fruit is viable...

Smack anything else you have laying around with that pollen ;)

well, i saved some for a rainy day( in the freezer) ulysses. i didnt want to spoil my sensi crop with unintentional pollination but i have some for a fitting girl. i sure do hope i get at least a few good viable seeds out of this expiriment. being this is my first attempt, im not holding my breath. but if it does work then maybe a few of us will be happy. in the meantime i will research a better way to collect that pollen so i dont waste as much cuz it went everywhere when i tried to collect it. i guess thats just the nature of the beast.

Try plaicng sheets of paper under the plant on top of the pot. shake the pollen so it falls on the paper. Then scoop it up.
