Hello,
I have been making water-extracted hash for a few months now.
I use a Bubble now, with a 3 bag system (200, 73, 25).
I run 200 grams frozen trim that has already spent 5 min in a dry tumbler. (its free!) At the moment I am using this trim tas I was gifted 50lbs of the stuff.
My questions are:
1) My hash never bubbles, can i expect it to given the low quality trim?
2) I always store in a powder form, is this best?
3) I average 5% yield, is this average?
(200grams = 6g cooking grade, 2g smoke grade 73, 2g smoke grade 25)
4) My second wash is VERY frothy, anything I can do to reduce the bubbles?
(takes much longer to process)
Here is my process, feel free to comment critique, ridicule, ect...
Step one, frozen trim added to wash bag, add 1 bag chopped ice close zipper.
Add another bag of chopped ice to Bubble Now and add water to MIN level.
First wash (smoke grade) 3min, run through all bags and scrapped with spoon onto drying screen (silk screen laid on towel, no pressing), both grades kept separate (73 and 25).
Second wash (cooking grade) add new ice and water to bring up levels. Filtered through the 200 and 25 only. This is then scraped off the 25 and placed on the drying screen.
After 1 hr I remove the wet hash from the drying screen, and lightly chop with a plastic card. This is done on a clean piece of cardboard. THen I place in freezer overnight. I then remove from freezer, lightly chop a second time with the plastic card and then left to dry in a closet for 48hrs. After this I chop as fine as possible and then store.
That is about it...any comments?
