Starting up a new grow again :)

Ok I am starting up a small grow at my buddies house, i havent grown in like 2 years b/c of some bullshit that happened. Anyways i let him borrow my 400watt HPS and surprisingly he still had it lol. Well he rents a nice sized house with a cool landlord that never comes around, he has a couple empty rooms and like 4 empty closets, so i chose one of the closets for this small grow. The closet is about 5ft long, 2ft wide and 8ft tall. Now my other grow buddy has a hydro bucket setup that he no longer uses (i hope) and he said i could have it. So with my deminsions and light what kind of setup do yall think i should go with. Im gonna try to get a couple NLxAfghan and grapefruit clones from him. Do you guys think i should go with 1-2 plants and scrog them or 5-6 plants and just train them? Remember its only a 400watt, and i really dont care about the yield, obviously i dont want it to be small but im just growing it for us and our buddies. Now before anybody says anything about having people that know about the grow blah blah, we (my buddies) are very very very close we have known each other since we were little. Im not worried about them with anything theres only 4 of us anyways but anyways back to the point what setup should i go with????

for a 5 x 2 area and a 400 watt light i would say do a scrog with 1-2 plants. it would probably be best to section off a 2 x 2 area with some panda sheeting and utilize that to the maximum. just make sure you have adequate ventilation. 5 feet would be ok for 400 if you used a light mover.

Yeah im having trouble deciding what im going to do for ventilation.... Im obviously going to have a fan or probably 2 in the closet but what do you guys think i should do for fresh air and exhaust?

I did the same thing.....a 400 vegg in a closet a little smaller in length but for vent,I just turned a fan around and set it inside the door of the closet.Just close it when others come around but not for more than a few hours.

those dimensions are close to my bunkbed set up.

with 4 of you working together on in it, i reckon you all should throw $60 in together and pick up a 600watt hps. put it along side the 400, all 4 of you will get a nice sack each harvest i reckon.
or as a option, use a smaller closet and put the 400 in there, veg a mom and always be ready and waiting for more plants to go in when the other room comes down.

im soon going to be running perpetual so i wont be scroging, but otherwise,i think scrog would be best for how you are wanting to run it.


8ft tall - not bad. so say 7 ft once light in. so you want to run Hydro?... you will need a shortish systems. buckets?...
have you thought about soil ?...

so many options mate...

Ok a couple changes, mostly good for me. I am not going to grow at my apartment. Its actually a duplex and i have the first one on the street so i only have 1 neighbor that i share walls with and right now no one is living there, though im sure it wont be long and someone will move in. Ok so i have some debating to be done and need some help. I have a closet about the same size as my buddies except there is already a clothes hanger pole about 6ft high so with light i will be about 5ft from light to floor (carpet), 6ft long and 2ft wide ill post pics of closet at end of post. Now i was planning on putting up some kind of tarp like material to block the light and seal the closet off. Sometimes i have people over not very often but how could i keep curious people from opening my closet, anybody that comes over has came over before and has had a tour of the apartment so i dont see a reason why they would open it unless there was noise coming from the closet. Also how could i ventilate the closet pretty good without it being obvious? Last, I have decided to go with soil so hydro is out of the picture. Also i have a pretty big garage attached but there is no closet in there, do yall think i should get a cab or go with the closet in the house???
