Sealing a door for a sealded room?

Well I'm in the final stages of completing the room. I removed the carpet, built walls for the flower room and installed a 24" door for entry. There is a 1 3/8" space underneath the door that need to get closed up. A 2x3 stud is an 1 1/2" thick which is too large. I guess I can go to Home Depot and have them rip the 2x3 down for me.

Any ideas out there on how you would do this?

I lined the inside of the door with weather stripping and the seal is pretty good except for the coners. When the lights are out and I stand in the room I can see a little light coming in in the corners. I tried on doubling up the weather stripping but it didn't solve the problem.

Any ideas for this issue?

If the door fits really tight and I can't see any light seeping through. Does that mean that it's a quality air seal also?

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

I just returned from Home Depot and got all my goodies. I'm going to have to put a piece of 3/4" plywood under the threshold but it should work fine.\

That looks like a pretty ill set-up man! Are you gonna post pics? What does your electrical situation look like? You're keeping the ballasts out of the growing spaces right?

I'm just curious why you would say the room ill.

Here's some specifics:

I ran a dedicated 220/30 amp circuit for the lights. Using a home made 220 volt 4 way relay switch. I ran a dedicated 20 amp circuit for the AC and I'm using existing electrical to run fans and pumps. I have 4 Lumetec 600 watt digital ballast very neatly installed over the veg station. I will be putting my clones into flower on Sunday and will be able to take pictures of the ballast install then.

I'm will be working all night tonight install the last 2 hoods, exhaust fan for the lights and run the AC line sets. I should have the room fully operational by Monday.

I've been running 2 lights on my 1st run and have 7 skunk #1 almost 6 weeks in flower. I took a few pictures the other day and will post them for you. I can't post any of the build out photos because the upload is still offline. Here's some photos of the plants:











All I can say is when the room is complete it will be tight.

I think when he said ill, he meant it in the slang version. Like sick, bad, etc, all meaning the opposite.

I tought that's what he meant, but I've never heard ill used in that manner before.

I have gotten a lot done in the last 2 day's.

New lights are up with the new ventilation fan. I was able to close the door last night and temps barely topped 80. The new AC is up with line set run to the compressor. Unfortunutly a fitting needed to vacume the line is stripped so I won't be able to finish the room until Tuesday or Wednesday. After I pull a vacume I can start closing the walls and wrapping up. I wanted to get my clones in the room today buy I will have to wait another few day's. The clones are around 12".

Well the upload is finally back on line and I will snap some more photos before lights out.

Hi Kilbud, nice setup. your using a 1000cfm exhaust and 730cfm intake? I was on another post where a couple guys said that using a fan on the intake is a bad idea? hows it working for you. I see your running 30 buckets, I was going to do 9 under 4x600 lumateks, in a 6'x6' area. How long are you going to veg, I was concerned with over crowding at 9 buckets.

I'm using a Vortex 8" fan pulling air through my lights and a max 10 for my can 100 carbon filter. I thinks it's a bad idea to push air through the lights. It's ok if you have a fan on both sides pushing in and then pulling out. I believe this setup is fine for my room. For my size room I probably could have used another Vortex 8" on my can filter instead of the max 10. I will play with fan attenuaters on both my fans.

I think you can do 9 buckets and they could be large plants.

My drawing shows 30 buckets but I probably won't run that many. I'm using 3.5 gallon buckets and I just dont think I can comfortbly run 30. My 1st grow currently running I grew the plants way to large in Veg. They went into flower around 24" and I probably could have grown 10 in 2 rows of 5. I think I will move to 2 gallon buckets and try and run 3 rows of 6 almost like SOG. I'm staggering the grow so every month I will start plants in flower. My clones going into flower this week and will go in a 12" I will try to run 14 and we'll so how it goes. I'm a newbie so this is all trial and error for me.

I have been growing skunk #1 but just started a new strain from seed Mandela Satori. They say it's a high yeilder and grows a little more vertically which is what I need.

The room I built started as a 10x10 room. There was a reach in closet which was 2x5 and that wound up being my veg area. The drawing I posted is very good repesentation of the final layout, it's just not to scale. I just added the rest of the room to my drawing.
