Help me pick a PRICE RANGE

I'm just starting to sift through the mind-boggling array of available strains from the various seedbanks. Wow. My current dilemma is this: Is it really worth it to spend the extra $$ for the more expensive beans, such as the seeds on the seedbank.com Website? I see that most 10 packs are going for $40 and up, yet there were some seeds from Gypsy Nirvana that were like 12 Euro for 10.

Some background: I grew once before, and it was fun and successful, so I have some idea of what I am doing.I plan an indoor, very small grow, 1 -3 plants at most, in a 4x5x6.5 high space, under 400w HPS, in soil pots. This will be my second grow, and I just plan to grow em and cut em. If I get even one plant, that'll be enough to keep me flush with sticky for a year or more. Thus, while some decent potency and taste are desired, overall yield isn't a big deal, and some phenotype variance doesn't bother me either, as I am not looking for a mother. I like a Sativa-Indica mix, either 50-50 or slightly favoring the Indica for pain releif.

So, with all of the above taken under consideration, is it worth it for me to buy the expensive seeds? Or would I just be wasting $$, since I don't plan to grow more than a plant or so?

Thanks for any feedback you can provide.

you should check out AnnaC seeds and Mandala seeds over at seedbay. The prices are very reasonable and you'll get some great genetics that won't dissapoint.

try the flying dutchmen's FLY The Pure (Skunk #1) It's a sat/indi mix (more sat leaning) but it yields big, great bud, easy to work with, only 30US for a 10 pack, and if you want it to be a bit heavier just let it flower a bit longer...

high, if you don't plan to keep clones and just want to do an harvest, my advice is to not buy expenssive seeds, you can find a nice indica/sativa plant relatively cheap, look on breeders forum there is plenty to choose, or look at http://www.seedbay.com/ or http://www.seedboutique.com/ there are breeders varieties who are not on the forum but before buying the one you want try to read some grow reports or smoke reports, to know if all is ok with this line, germination rate, high of the plant, smell...ect...
happy choice and happy growing

I agree with half and Doc, the pure is great for the money. I just grabbed 2 extra packs for the safe. If you wanna spend a little more go with Rez's williams wonder or Gonzo#1 and Anna c's stuff is some great gear for the money.

I don't know my ass from a hole in the ground as far as what's good or what's not, but It would seem that if you just wanted to grow them strait out with no hassle, you might want to grab a femanized 5 pack, instead of a m/f 10 pack. Some companies on the bay sell mixed femanized 5 packs that will get you a variety of smoke with no males to waste your time and light on. That way you don't have to smoke the same weed all year.

Hey vespers,

Expensive beans are usually expensive because everyone is buying them, not because they are necessarily top notch. Sometimes strains reputation exceeds its worth.

Some of the cheapest strains available are very very good, such as nirvana Afghani and Aurora Indica for 20$. KC 33 is probably the best outdoor plant available and its 20.$ Joey weed and Dr. atomics NOrthern lights are both much better than sensis for half the price. Price has absolutely no connection to quality whatsoever. Show me ANY strain over 100$ and I can beat its ass seriously with a 20$ strain all day long, with no exceptions. Name the strain.
I have never paid over 100$ for a strain that I didn't take a screwing on and thats the facts. Big money, big hype.

I was just reading this thread, and I don't want to get off topic, but I have a challenge for you.
Name 1 20$ strain (other than satori) that is as good as Green Spirit by Paradise. I'd love to know that.

Thanks for all the feedback everyone! From what I can see, it looks like the less-expensive strains are just fine for my purposes. I guess now I'll wait to see what seedboutique has for specials this week. I'll post again once I receive my beans, but it looks like Gypsy Nirvana's gear is what I'll be growing. I had considered Mandala too, given their rep, but it appears they are on holiday until April, and I want to order this weekend.

Thanks again for all the feedback. It is truly appreciated.

Vespers,

Just to clarify, Gypsy Nirvana Seed Boutique and Nirvana Seeds are seperate companies. Gypsy Nirvana Seed Boutique is a seed store, and also owns and operates this site. Where Nirvana Seeds is a seedbank that breeds cannabis seeds and sells them to seed store retailers like Gypsy Nirvana.

Does that make sense?

Thanks for the info, AlienDude,

As you might guess, I was associating the Nirvana name with both Gypsy Nirvana, SeedBay, Seedboutique and Nirvana Seeds.

Thanks for the clarification.

If you want to go between hyped expensive strains and good very cheap ones - consider Joey Weed seeds from hemp depot for 50 dollars (or the cheaper mix). Great genetics, highly acclaimed around these forums. There's also some choices for very low-odor stuff.

Don't buy nirvana seeds, and don't buy feminised seeds.....buy regular seed....its better quality....trust me....and i don't tell this for opening a polemic, just my very honnest opinion....

I'll second the Mandala recommendation. $15 bucks a pop for some of the best genetics on the market.
