What's new

CSC Sugar Klingon

Thanks for checking in.

I'm using a 105w CFL for my little veg. cabinet. The flower room has a 600w Hortilux.

High: Very potent, extremely euphoric high, conducive to partying and socializing. A strong, clear up, always very active high that lasts for a good 4+ hours, with very nice visuals and serious zoning. Full motivation, never mentally debilitating. It is very cerebral, no paranoia or couch lock, exhilarating, funny giggling, perma-smile type of effect. Easy letdown, no hang over. Remarkably, very experienced smokers report their bodies build no tolerance for Klingon buds: it's not just very potent, but it's reliably potent over long term use. Will come out as the all-around winner, even against the most prominent "heavy hitters".

Should be an interesting smoke, curious to hear how it turns out

Yeah, sounds too perfect doesn't it? The backstory on it is pretty cool. It was an early release of theirs before they became extremely popular. Hopefully, I'll be able to see this to a smoke report.

Looks like some of them actually popped.

Nute mix made tonight for tomorrow:
3 gal of distilled water
10 mil of Canna A
10 mil of Canna B
3 drops of Super Thrive
Ph up

Ph 5.93
ppm 399

Hopefully going into 4" pots full of Coco tomorrow.

A little long, and a double post...sorry

A little long, and a double post...sorry

You can't say these guys don't know how to market a strain...

Royal ancestors on this hybrid: Bubblegum clone, original Sagarmatha's Blueberry and Aloha 98 Widow background for the Klingonberry; Fig Skunk, Aloha 98 Widow and Cinderella 99 on the Fig Widow Queen side. We applied a sativa bias in our parent selection to breed out unwanted "blue" genetic traits, and the results were sugar-berry potently euphoric. The Klingonberry name? A Swedish tester thought of Lingonberry jam at first toke (fruity & buttery), and a Trekkie familiar with the Romulan strain came up with "Klingonberry."

Our aim was to breed out the undesirable traits of the "blue" genetics (difficult to grow, brittle, too many leaves, poor calyx to leaf ratio, tale-tell stink, boring low power stone) while maintaining the hashy berry flavor and clear high of the very best Blueberries and Bubblegums. The addition of the Fig Widow Queen has contributed extra power and superb bud structure, its crystal content reinforced by the cubed Aloha 98 Widow (pollen source for both NCGA's Blue Widow and Mota's Fig Widow).

The Sugar Klingon is the result of painstakingly heavy selection out of dozens of potential Klingon mothers. It's built for quality of high, ease of growth and yield. The reliable Midas touch of the Fig Widow Queen pollen source has made Klingon progeny an outstanding, all-around plant very well suited to commercial operations seeking to cater to the "connoisseur" market.

Phenotype: Its sheer vigor makes this plant extremely easy to grow, taking care of itself under a variety of conditions, reacting equally well to both high and low nutrient situations. Very well suited for screen of green setups. Small, medium width glossy green leaves are borne sparsely, concentrating all energy in producing thick colas that are silver with resin, allowing for an extremely high calyx to leaf ratio that makes manicure almost unnecessary. The Sugar Klingon is an elegant Christmas tree shaped plant complete with snow covering, a very grower friendly phenotype that markedly contrasts with the brittle, finicky traits of most "berry" strains. Low odour when growing, too.

Buds: Bud formation is outstanding, picking up volume and speed in the last two weeks of flowering, with surprisingly thick resin-encrusted pistils that cure to a dark golden colour. Dense, near solid buds are completely covered in shiny resin. Even the fan leaves have big portions of its surface covered with crystals, excellent material for bubble hash. Top notch cosmetic appeal: very frosty, hard nuggets, with elegant thick golden pistils and berry aroma.

Yield: The Klingon mother was the result of very heavy selection, and yield was the deciding factor. Commercial growers can expect to yield an average of 2 oz per square foot (about 1 oz per gallon of soil). This high yielding ability is a direct result of its impressive calyx to leaf ratio, buds form solid colas of exceptional girth that are silver with resin (another difference with the average "blue" strain, that tends to be very leafy and brittle). An excellent choice for screen of green.

Taste & Smell: The Sugar Klingon is a favorite for taste, with a buttery, sweet hashy berry flavor that has nice expansion in the lungs. Undescribable berry-fruity taste, always smooth and creamy. A lip-smacking mellow smoke, a consistent crowd pleaser.

Ok, here's the deal.

1) The Ebb/Flow situation arrived today. It's much much bigger than I expected but it fits perfectly in my grow closet. Very happy.
2) I watered the babies with some of the leftover mix, listed earlier.

I put the tub in the closet. I then filled it up with the following:

2.5 gal of the leftover mix (see above)
2.5 gal of plain distilled water
10 gal of tap water (I put it in the tub, going to let it sit overnight)

For tomorrow:
Add 5 gallons of distilled water
Add full nute solution
Add PK 13 per instructions
Wait
Balance Ph

Also, I form fitted the 6" coco cups into the 5" square pots that came with the system. I don't know if I'm going to use them yet. (probably will).

Took more pictures.

edit: don't forget the SuperThrive!!!! :spank:

I let the 20 gal rez sit overnight. I added the following to the rez today:

160ml of Canna A
160ml of Canna B
120ml of PK 13/14
One capfull of SuperThrive

edit: 10gal distilled, 10gal tap water, 676 ppm, 6.46 Ph

Added 9 drops of Ph down. Check Ph tomorrow before transplant.

2nd edit: 27 more drops of Ph down.

Good luck on the grow Southern Candy. To speed up the mixing process, I usually add a longer than usual pipe to the flood height fitting, let the water fill up, then pull the plug so the water drains fast. Allows a good bit of water to mix and the pump sucks the ph adjusters up to the tray, then when it drains it mixes with the rest of the water. Just a thought. I use a 40 gallon res and it's kind of hard to mix it by hand. Maybe there are better tricks, I'd love to know them if anyone has any.

Consider this tagged, i hope you find a real winner, I'm excited to see how it all turns out.

Thanks for stopping by guys.

Rebel-
I'll do my best to make some seeds (read: I've never thrown pollen but for these I'm certainly going to try to make some F2's). I can't promise it will be the most potent plants but I have been reading up on male selection. Fjall's posts and some great stuff from Chimera mainly. Anyway, I'll get seeds to whoever is interested in growing these bad boys. I'm glad someone else is interested in the CSC lines.

Thanks for the great tip! I'm going to mod the tray after this grow. How do I become a member of F.U.C.K.E.M.? I'm an East coaster. :)

So, the plants are doing good and growing like fucking weeds (sorry had to). They are between 7-9 inches tall now, and some of them are really showing their blue traits. I added 5gal (2.5gal of distilled and 2.5 of tap that stood overnight. Ph of 6.01) of water today. I flushed the pots with it and poured the rest into the rez. Some of the plants look like they may be a little sensitive to the nutes. No huge deal, but no reason to force nutes on them. I may actually turn off the second flood...hmm....

I know they are young but I think I might take two cuttings off of each of them. What do you guys think? Are they too young?

Again, thanks for stopping in.

DutchFlowers release was the original seed, i believe CSCs offerin was a F2.

i grew the same offerin from CSC, gottum off cbay, large frosty buds, seemed to have a berry taste and aroma for me. grew mine in soil, id imagine they will go big in your setup

Hey Southern Candy, check out the East Coast Croppers thread in the growers section. Most of us hang out there. We're a big family, so you'll have to hang for awhile and show what you got, but we're always welcome to fellow East Coasters stopping by. If you like what you see, stick around and post pics and such.

i usually wait until i'm ready to flower, i then flush the veg plants and clone all i need and put them in an ez cloner, and flip the veg plants in flower. usually the veg plants have been going for 1 to 1-1/2 months and have plenty of shoots for cloning.

Cloning, wish me luck.

Cloning, wish me luck.

I'm going to take some cuts and give my first real shot at cloning tonight. I have vey high hopes and low expectations, but we will see.

I'm about to make a batch of both of the following.

1) Olivia's Cloning Solution. 32oz.
2) Anti-Wilt. 32oz.

Clones will be going into Rapid Rooter plugs with the 6" dome. I am using 1 gal of water for the base. It is 50/50 tap/distilled.

I am also going to switch these little buggers to 12/12 tonight.

I promise I have pics, I just haven't uploaded them yet.

Yo Yo

Here is a quick pic I took of the Sugar Klingons. I got 6 females, and 3 males. I kept one male, he's been snipped and stuck in the corner for now (I'm making some Sugar Klingon seeds for some fellow IC'ers ((that's you guys)). The 10th plant is some very potent bag seed I had lying around. The bag seed just happened to be a female.

I have more pictures but I have a logic board problem on my mac. I'll post the rest when I get that replaced. For now I'll work on my laptop.

My little cloning adventure went fairly well, considering. All of them have new growth which is awesome. I'm positive I'll be able to clone my next grow, no problem.

Here is the quick pic. Thanks for stopping by and for the p.m.'s everyone. It is greatly appreciated and I will try my best to get you a nice fat sack of seeds.

p.s. One of these plants (maybe two) are showing some serious blue traits. Bluing of the leaves, curly fan leaves, growth pattern, etc.
