I've seen noobs totally freak out after smoking so I wouldn't be suprised if she did. Yeah, the "experiments" are total bullshit, but paranoia is a real "side effect."
My friends and I once smoked this kid up who had only taken a couple hits in his life. Soon after smoking a blunt the kid couldn't stop laughing. It went on for like 10 or 15 minutes. Then he became totally silent. Like 20 minutes pass and the dude asks for a ride home.
So we're pulling into his driveway and I ask, "hey dude, can we have a few sodas?" He looks at us, says "uhh....yeah," swings his door open, and sprints to the front door. We're all like WTF? We wait for a couple minutes still thinking he's going to bring us the drinks. He doesn't.
We walk up to the front door. He doesn't answer. We walk to the back door and we see him cowering in a corner holding a baseball bat, his face bright red. He sees us and starts screaming at us to go away. None of us had any clue as to what's going on.
Turns out the dude thought we were going to beat the shit out of him. He created this whole paranoid world in his head and it totally took control of him.

This is what happens to the 'news' when reality TV takes over normal programming. Then the news must become sensational before its allowed to be presented to the masses.

well first off nickys and a**hole, and shouldnt have been doing the experiement in the first place, just because she freaked out, doesnt mean everyone will or even her kids will once they have imbibed the sweet nectar of the sacred plant.
why dont they ever have a sensible person do these kinds of things/ studies? how well does she do on alcohol? im considered overweight and my last check up showed that i had a higher HDL than LDL and the doc said i should bring it down, other than that i was fine, and i smoked every day for a couple of months b4 that.
so now once again, this "clown does this study to prove what? show what? to show us maybe how HER metabolism works as compared to everyone else with a lil more tolerance than she? shes a light-weight, ok so what? so she hasn't tried cannabis in how many years and then she pretty much chooses something meant to relieve pain and other illnesses? this can be compared to someone who just has a headache and takes tylenol with codeine x 3 for the pain relief.
this whole thing stinks

See, we know this shit proves nothing. We can see from empirical evidence that marijuana is NOT as harmful as stated. Most people on this forum know that cannabis can cause paranoia, especially in beginners. What she did was the equivalent of starting a n00b on pure China White. Everyone here knows that the cannabis we smoke now affects most of us differently (we being the chronic smokers), we have higher tolerances and changes in how the drug is metabolized such that we don't turn into total n00bs like she did. Most people also know there is a HUGE difference between schwag and 15% "Skunk", even in experienced smokers the effects are vastly different, but especially in n00bs.
The messed up thing is, more people will believe her, even some of the ones that have tried it before, because she's on TV.
This doesn't seem very scientific. Did they do a psychiatric evaluation before the fact? Any second and 3rd opinions? ANYTHING AT ALL to compare what the reporter was like in her personal life before?

The "experiment" is biased and unbalanced, period. Not good at all. Nothing but a lot of pot bashing and fear mongering. I do, however, believe that cannabis isn't for everyone. I've got a friend that rarely smokes but when he does he gets pretty fucking silly. I guess he'd be considered a light-weight. He used to smoke a lot but in the past year, he's only smoked 10 or so times that I know of. If he smokes too much, you'll know about it. You can't hold a conversation with him, he's making noises, speaking in accents, very ADD, hyper-active and he eats all my food. I know most of that is the high talking but perhaps he's just overly sensitive to THC or maybe he should smoke more often/less. I don't know. He's a cool guy otherwise, though. I realize this isn't a "know-all and end-all conclusive piece of scientific evidence" but first-hand accounts do count for something, in my opinion (especially when there are enough of them.)
