Hello all!

I'm planning on doing a White Widow grow soon and hav a few questions for anyone with a bit of experience or friendly advice ...
You dnt hav to read the paragraph below if u dislike reading lol, its jst basic info on my set-up

Firstly, I will b growing in a room 2m (6.5ft) tall and 1.2m (3.9ft) square... It has all the proper air intake, extractor, dehumidifier (wen necessary), circulation fans etc. etc. (I've done grows b4, bt jst from bag seed, no great strains found)
Anyway, the set up is working good.
I have a 400W HPS, a 400W MH and a 600W HPS, I usually use the 400 MH for vege and the 600 HPS for flower, prolly obvious bt anyways.

- MY 3 QUESTIONS -

1. What medium should I grow in? - Soil or Hydro (Bubbler Bucket)
*I have experience with both

2. Approx. how many White Widows would fit in my grow space? (If I veged for 1 month before flower)

3. How many grams/ounces could I expect as an average min/max amount?


I'll experiment myself of course, but some basic info from people with experience growing this strain would help to eliminate some basic problems before they occur.

1. Check out coir, its very simple and gives good results and can be done organic. Also Drip Hydro the waterfarm buckets can be a good option for 1-2 tree's.

2. if you vegged for a month? in that space 2 maybe? there gonna be beasts if you do that.

3. The yeild is of course dependant but with a 600 watt you could get 300 grams fairly easy for your first grow and as you tune it in you could go for more like a lb +.

also, is a month going to b too long to vege?

I think 1 - 2 trees sounds good if they're going to b beasts.

I reckon I could pull 3-400 grams first time growing this strain coz i've pulled that with other strains, i've never had one decent strain to work with tho, it will b good to hav this strain to work with and fine tune to get a high quality, high yield product.

ya Coco, Coir same thing I think, just look up coir. You want the bricks.

they also make coco nutes but Earth juice Ive heard works great.



what I would do is I would grow out all the seeds and look for the most vigorous female one and then flower all the females and also before you flower them take clones of all of them and keep track of which one yields the biggest and which one has the best bud, and then choose accordingly. Maybe veg 2 weeks with all of them, keep em small and keep track of everything.

If you're going to go with coco, do some reading in the coco section before you run out and buy anything. Coco can be used in many various ways. Everyone has their personal preference and you should make an informed decision about which way you want to go. Personally, I like growing in Canna coco; but that's just me.

White Widow - Loves to be cut! If you veg for a month and prune and top and fim, you'll get an outrageous plant. WW stretches a lot for about three weeks after you flip them. With the one month veg and pruning, you'll have a healthy base for the foliage you'l get during the stretch. WW grows big long buds. Plan ahead for a way to tie up the buds. WW is thirsty and hungry. You can't go real high on the ppm, <1,500 more or less, loves molasses and Sweet, can easily take 10-11 weeks to finish. That's all that comes to mind at the moment.

Unfortunately I hav very limited coco supplies available to me, I've only ever seen 1 type of coco medium in the store and only 1 brand of coco specific nutes :( bt will ask the guy at the store and see what else he has.

If coco is not available I think I'll go for Hydro (with jst one plant)

I'll b sure to have a look through the coco section, if anyone wants to provide some good links, it would b appreciated!

Seeds arrived! I've put them in some soil to germinate and vege till i can get clones off them (and sex them) ... If anyone has some extra advice that would b great! ... How necessary is it to pH coco coir? or should i go hydro or soil for the first run through?

Hello I just finished a 2000 H. P. S. White widow from Nirvana. I had seven plants total harvest started at 50 and finished at 75 yielded about 2.5 pounds. was grown in fox farms Ocean Forest using P. B. P. and molasses should have kept the nitrogen up past day 30 yellow out a little bit too soon other than that great stuff

Hi, i've done a few grows in the past with white widow in a similar size area you have.
( mine was 4ftx4ft)

I grew 4 plants in soil in 20ltr pots under a 600 watt hps, they were veged roughly 4 weeks till when they reached around 12inches in height.
I fim topped them around the 6th node. this gave me a finishing height of around 2.5 ft.

On average i got around 2.5oz. dried per plant, but once i only grew 2 plants in same area and got 10 oz. from 2, so it worked out the same.

They are a sod to trim as well, very leafy...... :bashhead:

I used Dutch Passion fem. white widow and she was a fantastic smoke, if your looking for a mother i suggest you keep the longer flowering pheno, iv'e found when they go to ten weeks or longer they just pack on the tric's in the last week and is a much stronger high..

With my 400 watt, I get about 2 ounces per plant in FoxFarm Ocean Forrest Soil with 1 month veg... i didn't top aor anything. Just a basic grow. I used FoxFarm Grow Big, TIger Bloom, and Big Bloom nutrients. The plants got about 4 ft tall. I spaced each plant about 12 inches apart from the others.

let the WW go 9-10 weeks for flower. My seeds were frmom Female Seeds Team (FST). THe plants stayed a healthy, dark green all the way through harvest. ANd the high is... BOMB BABY

If you have experience with both hydro and soil. I would do an experiment. Grow one in a bubble bucket and one in soil.

Yea I think I'll do a 20 Litre Soil Pot and a 20 Litre Hydro Bucket haha, then maybe the grow after that i'll do Coco vs which ever of the soil/hyrdo does best ... I'll post pics in like a month wen i've finished flowering my current crop and hav started the Widow adventure hahaha. Good luck everyone, sounds like this is the first run with WW for a few of us!!!

the only thing I can add is that she doesnt like her soil wet just moist. The most pickiest girl Ive ever grown as far as watering. It was hard for me to nail down the amount of water to give. I had the sativa pheno in soil. I took her 10 weeks and cut down the lightning to 10/14 the last 2 weeks. Could have went longer. She really sparkles up with a little sweet or molasses or liquid karma or whatever you prefer during the second half of flowering maybe week 5,6,7

Does anyone know of a strain that I can get from nirvana-shop.com that has a cerebral buzz and would grow well nxt to a Widow that they could recommend me?

Also does anyone have some advice/ideas/strains that would be good to cross pollinate with WW? ... Preferably to create a more intense and trippy high rather then a lazy/tired stone ... any thoughts would b cool

Let your White Widow go full term and cure for a few months and you WILL have some trippy shit. It's one of the downright strongest I grow. Cross with a super silver haze? I just started 14 seeds from WWxSSH love session. If they're worthwhile, I'll let you know.

If I did I quick trial run through with my WW in soil ... Would you recommend I use 10L or 18L Square pots? ... Or even bigger than that?

I like to give my girls lotsa space (anywhere between 5-15 gallons, depending on the plant size and strain), but my goal is to grow a few moderate to big plants (med law requirements in my state limit plant numbers).

There is a point of diminishing returns in container size, and the veg time, flower time, strain, and environmental constraints all need to be considered--but, all else being equal, bigger pots = more pot.

White Widow @ day 22 (JTR and OG Kush--SFV in the background and right, respectively). She was LSTed and FIMed into a bush and lives in a #5 plastic nursery pot.
