How are you keeping pictures/logs/grow FAQ information on your computer and being safe with it?

Encrypted disks? Just not worrying about it?

How about one of these Iron Key hardware encrypted devices. Ten wrong guesses on the password and it self destructs. The drive is potted in black epoxy so physical disassembly is impossible without damaging the components. (I added a link for it on amazon but the poster won't allow it.. not enough posts for that privilege?)

Just wondering what ideas others have come up with.

I keep pictures and other related info in a password-protected disc image with an unrelated name (Mac OS). I'm sure it wouldn't protect the files from a serious hacker with plenty of time, but would be a pain to get at without the password. And it at least prevents someone who might be using my computer from stumbling across something I don't want them to see. If a file is on your hard drive and somebody wants it bad enough, they will get it.

I have had used a product similar to Iron key before....not for these this kind of information ofcourse, because I could care less if they wanted to take my computer. If they wanted your computer than your already in the shit hole and that should be the least of your worries.
As far as subpoena goes... If they can't get murderers back from over sees than I don't think they will mess with law logistics to bring forth evidence to come get your titty collection on your hard drive.

Upload them onto my gallery here and then delete them. I also clear all my cookies and history from my browser everytime I close it. I also don't have any favorites to any Mj sites. If they looked at my computer, they wouldn't see what sites I've gone too.

I believe ICMag's servers are in Holland. There's no extradition, so I doubt a US subpoena would have any power there.

File/disk encryption is extremely hard to crack if used properly (it'd normally take a bank of computers something like 100 years or so to break it) and is very easy to set up and use.

TrueCrypt is free, I highly recommend it for storing all grow related pictures and information: http://www.truecrypt.org/

Yeah I'd think pictures would be more useful to them if they were trying to build a case and/or get a warrant. Keep in mind, pictures alone could only SUPPORT other evidence they already have. If you're at the point where you're already arrested, they probably could give a fuck if you have pictures of the grow.

most american ISPs allow American law inforcement to do deep packet inspection

which in essence decrypts all information in the TCP/IP packet being passed back and forth regardless of encryption level

I "borrow" other peopls Internet and log on from computers whos hardware cant be traced to me

(all computer network equipment has ebedded unique information known as mac address which coudl be used to track you)

Yeah but I was asking more about pictures/info on your disk, not what you are browsing off the net.

I'm not sure how they are decrypting packets regardless of encryption level. There are quite a few ways to pass traffic around at some levels of encryption that aren't going to be cracked on the fly. You'd have to be a very interesting person to warrant enough attention for them to be going after that and spending the time/resources required to view your traffic.

But again, this is off topic. Pics/e-books/grow logs/grow stats for past grows on disk. Maybe if you are commercial, transaction history. Again on disk/usb drive etc.

Also it seems the general feeling is that this is a mute point prior to be caught, but I was thinking that some of this info could make you look worse post-bust.
