IS there such a thing as a 150 cmh that I can screw in to my mog base and run off my HPS ballast?
Our would I need to switch to the g12 base in order to run these?

Looked back over some of the thread and it appear that my answer is no. Bummer
The lower wattage ones are pulse start or something like that.

huggie- In one of the CMH threads a poster stated that the initial release of these types of bulbs into the marketplace was based on the people who would be buying them a first. So I think they looked and said 400's & 250's are a big market(and no heat/reliability issues in our way) so we might be best served with a bulb that would work on the hps ballast because your getting a cmh for the white light something a hps doesn't do very well. If you already had a MH setup then you didn't need the white light from a cmh. That said it's what i think not a proven fact. Anyway i spoke to a lighting guy a work recently and he was also told that the new cmh's would be available to be used in certain electronic ballasts? But he was hazy on it. He also said that another flavor of bulb was coming out in the next 12-18 months? with more output per watt and a more even spectrum to boot. So seems like it's always changing sorry abou the post length, but you guys know how it is when your stoned. Typing stupid stuff only to impress myself i think. :bashhead: Hope some of this helps someone or at the very least no one gets hurt.

I've been using it for 4 weeks now and it's amazing. LOTS of branches and short node spacing.

working on day 2 with the CMH problem free on a switchable hydrofarm powerhouse. bulb fired up right away just as a HPS would. the white light is awesome! i think my temps dropped about 5-6*F with nothing else changed. check out the link for some pic's.

First bulb I bought would not fire. Returned and second works fine. That and it's 250 sister have been running now for 4 weeks.

When the hell are they going to release the 600 watt CMH bulbs? I've already got an HPS ballast.

Does anybody have any idea when the 600 watt CMH will be available? If it's going to be years, then I will buy a new ballast to accomodate the 400 watt CMH bulb.

thanks for the reply for now I am going to stick with my 150 watt hps as I have never even ran it yet lol.
When build my final grow room in the house we hope to buy in the hopefully not so distant future then I will jump to a 400 watt CMH bulb for sure. unless they come out with something better :bashhead:
