have noticed that the afghani line shows up alot in those B.indy well especially in the first growth.
your too lucky with all that early sun , we got gales coming today apparently....

Dang..I wish you hadn't reminded me about the cup..I will mope now..
I think it will be at least 3 years until I am ready to Take that cup..

Funny you should mention the Afghan dominance...
I am busy picking WAMENS brains for the same reason.
I THINK..my blueprint for seeing the Perfect little LR show through..
bud/frame/structure/smell etc
is actually a blueprint for a Perfect little Afghani.
I think I have biased my grow with my selections..
not that I am complaining..

bpb..I have been sniffing them..and sniffing them..since the colour showed up..Friday..but I aint got nothing yet.

well as long as its still A/F theres no reason why taste and growth pattern shouldnt be more afghani...I personally didnt like the lowryder #1 , #2 was slightly better but still only for fun really
but so far Im seriously impressed mossy : )

That ALF girls...she is showing lots of bright pink pistills..the kind of flourescent pinks that run in ebes crosses.
Any idea where that comes from..is it afghani..or someone else..?
I have trimmed her for pollenation..you can see her shape now.

You gotta have dreams D-9..it is no good planning to be second best..That cup is mine..I can feel it in me water..
I know where you are coming from on the Original LR's.
The Concept was the truely awesome bit about them..
it meant Almost anyone could grow a canna plant..anywhere.
but..the LR crosses are where it is at.
This year I am concentrating on getting a 100% AF'er..that gives a guaranteed ounce plus yield from a 10 inch pot..
IMO..that will be a useful plant.

I am impressed with that growth..seeing as she is outdoor..and our night temps have been down to 0 degrees..
The first thing i thought about those pink pistils as a possible cause is the cold temp at night..
could be genes but i doubt so..
i had that same colour on the TAS (triple afghan slam x GuerrillaGold x DanishPass.) in the past season if ou remember

its such a complex cross that i wouldnt even accept considering the pink pistil as a genethic trait common in afghan offsprings.. not at all..
The cause could be related to the feeding or the temperature most definitely..

I always think of it as esbe's pink..because his genetics were the first I actually saw it in...
but if you think about it...his could be cold temp related too.
It is just not the colour for afghan in my experience..but my experience is limited...
although saying that..the b.indy Naz that Micro grew out was hellishly afghan dom..and that pink pistilled up at the end.

Buddle..wherehaveyabeen....you had us all worried...I am more than happy with the colour alone..for the minute..
It is nice to see new colours..I thought I knew most of them.
The two choc/colour phenos are showing differences now.
The Oguns Thunder is probably the most chocolate.
Rich and Matt colour..
deep deep purple on top..choc on the underskirts.
the Donkey D is deep purple to black..and she is the shiney pheno..so I have my metalic colours..without going back and hunting them out.
She looks like chocolate..with metalic wrapping...
I am hungry for any photos..greed..sheer greed...
Are you sure you are looking to a genetic trait when you look at those purpled gals.. figure they are growing with night temps close to 0°c and that could be the main cause..
For sure they could have a genetic tendance to go purple more than others. but the immediate cause could be the cold..

I saw you guys talking about Chocolate thai.. I get chocolate smelling/tasting buds a lot.. Usually it is a mix of chocolate and sour smells.. looks like this
I named that picture Chocolate sativa.. I've never had official "chocolate thai" but if I did, I would imagine it to be like this.
I can't wait to see girls before and after harvest, Your going to have some KILLER smoke Mossy..
The buds are already swelling up nice at fat, shows the care your taking for them.

It took a full year..
but they got there.
That is 4 vertical JEM's to a 10 inch pot.
WAMEN..same pink as the b.indy..flourescent pistills..
but that b.indy was april last year..and we were cold throught 'til May..
so..could be either.
we will keep our eyes on it...
