website idea want some feedback

so I'm thinking bout opening a website for stoners and college folk and all of us who have had the munchies at 3am but had no idea where to find food and the fridge is empty. a site you can just pop in ur zipcode and show a listing of what open in your area listing everything around you like pizza places open late, closest wawa or sheetz and dinners and places like waffle house. users will be able to submit places in there area with out registering for a user name and pass so no security risk just require a valid phone number for user submitted places so I can call and verfiy hours and location. at somepoint id like to get menus from place to so i can have it all in pdf format too for places hat deliver or you can pick up from

A good idea but you need alot of networking to find the right spots in every county.

I just checked campusfood for the Pace Univ. area (White Plains NY, VERY populated, VERY busy) and found just two listings for food, not good! That area has many late night eateries from great pizza (Mario's, midnite 5X's a week, 1am Fri/Sat), an awesome bar and food @ (Lazy Boy Saloon), to a late night KFC (Kennedy's Fried Chicken), Coachman's Diner, Star Diner and so many others.


I say go for it dude....... it'll be tough to get it all correct, half the fun might be in your own R & D evenings.

i like that idea and so go for it. all it would take is a lot of data mining and advertising the web site. i definitely wouldn't rely on user submissions for listings, do your own research. im with the others though, ideas for something as simple as a website should be kept within trusted circles.

How bout a good place to start with might be a cable show like
'Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives' they list some of the best known local
joints that are not usually known by outsiders, late night joints are
a bonus but great eats any time can be a stoner's comfort.

im guessing it will be a simpler version of citysearch (www.citysearch.com) that also covers smaller towns so maybe use their site to get started. just about all of their listed restaurants and such list hours but it mostly major cities. good luck!

wow your all so lame. it's not hard to get anything done once you stop talkng about it and start making it happen. in the amount of time you dude have been talking. I could have hired two interns(free) to start compiling the info. Step up those pipe dreams and make it happen.

i would steal this, but it's not worth much without proper backing. you'd have to pay out advertising for a good period before profit. A good tip is having a good domain name. this way it comes up higher on the list of direct searche involving your biz. you don't need a cool catchy name, just practical like (had something good, but might just go buy it) etc. the .com or .org doesn't matter in this case unless your intending to protect the name in the long run. Most of the time when it gets to that point someone will sell it to you for more, but money doesn't matter at that point. It's all write off at tax time. You can reinvest or you can pay taxes. I know what i choose.

yea they are kinda of my pipe dreams but hey maybe in a few years ill get both my books published and selll my idea to nasa for a infinite generator. but on the other hand im kinda afriad if i come out with the generator electric and oil companies might want to shoot me just like the guy who made the car with the carb that ran on water.
