Hey everyone! I've been browsing these forums for awhile now, and reading some of these microgrow journals inspired me to attempt one of my own! This is my first real time growing indoors. I've started seedlings indoors, but i've always ended up transplanting them outdoors to finish up. I just finished building my growbox. It still needs alittle work before I'm ready to start my grow (ventilation!) but I figured I'd start my growlog early and try and get some opinions on the growbox so far.
I bought the box at walmart. Its a cheap-o simple little 12"x12"x23" box with a door. Only costs like $16 but the idiot cashier only charged me $7 for it!! Oh well, I'm not gonna complain
For lighting, so far I have three 23w (1600 lumen's each) soft white CFL's that are plugged into a powerstrip I mounted up in the box. I also have a 13w tube florescent just to add a little more lightage. As for ventilation, I have no clue what I'm going to do! I want to add a carbon scrubber, but I'm not too sure on how to make one? I might use PC fans, one for an intake, and one for an exhaust (attached to the scrubber) but everytime I've used a PC fan, they get so loud! This has got to be 100% totally stealth and having a buzzing sound coming from the corner of your closet is bad news.
I might do a scrog with the screen, but I think I want to do a sog instead. Eitherway, im going to start flowering them either from seed or when their 1-2weeks old. I can't have them getting too big, I only have about 18" to work with from the lights down (not including the pots their going to be in!)
Comments/Suggestions are greatly appreciated! Let me know what you think I should do about a carbon scrubber, ventilation or weather I should do a sog or scrog?
