Best ORGANIC coco nutrient

I hear that you cant use bio-bizz with coco as it needs soil to break the food down, tho bio-bizz sell coco, but no coco nutrient what do you think would be the best organic nutrient to use with bio-bizz coco becuase i thats my fauvorite brand, i have used canna also,

the plants looked healthier in the bio-bizz coco but roots grew faster in the canna but i'm usin chemical coco nutes but would like to go organic,

is it even possible in coco???

Yes, you can do organics in coco. I use Earth Juice in coco. As you'll see by the pic, I don't have the EJ dialed in just right but I'm getting there.

i second earth juice.

EJ Bloom has no N so its good late in flower. plus it smells horrible so you know its good stuff.

I would imagine almost any healthy living coco medium could take any balanced organic nutrient. You can use dry ferts, Ej line (as mentioned), Age old organics, Iguana Juice (debatable if its truly organic) & many others.

I believe the most difficulty will lye in you figuring out the strain/s you're growing and what their needs are. Organics is very forgiving, so you'll be fine with whatever you use... within reason.

So Earth juice can be used with coco. Do you just keep a batch brewing all the time and hand water every day?

I have two 5 gallon buckets going most of the time. One mixed and full, and the other is the one I'd be currently feeding/watering from. I just rotate them out as needed. If using pure coco, handwater daily. In this Ready-Gro Moisture I'm using now, I handwater 3 times daily

And yes, it does take a bit of time to get them dialed in with EJ, but if you have a solid understanding of basic plant needs, you should do fine.

P.S. Everyone seems to love the taste of my buds using the organics/coco combo.

i start mixes every other day and just leave it to bubble for another 24 hours before throwing it out.

1 mix
2 24 hours bubble
3 feed
4 24 hours bubble
5 feed
6 throw out
7 see 1

if you use EJ ph up/down - careful, its strong

Yeah, your right! Too much friggin work for sure. They could survive on less, but I'm not interested in "just getting them by"...lol None of us are, I suppose.

After another run or two, my indoor is comin down. I'm switching to outdoor for the summer. Otherwise I'd definitely go back to pure coco.

Hello all,
Ive used earh juice for a while, and found that the ph had to be watched carefully, esecially with earth juice bloom.

leentu, this is a well known fact and that's why people bubble it... the ph will rise.

Yeah the ph fluctuations are the worst part about EJ.

Do y'all think this is just because EJ is an active organic nute? Meaning, of course, that since it is actively breaking down all the time, that the acid content is so high? Does the question make any sense?

Is this the case with all organics?

I believe its just the ingredients that they use.

If you read this it should tell you about which specific nutrients raise or lower ph. Most nutrients are ph balanced, Ej's isn't... dunno why exactly.

I've just finished a small experiment feeding some plants in coco with organics - liquid chicken manure extract, liquid bat guano extract, seaweed-based flowering fert, molasses, liquid humic & fulivc acids, Maxicrop and liquid worm humus. Quality was the same as plants fed with Canna Coco A+B and PK 13-14 and those fed with AN Monkey Juice and PK 13-14, yield was about equal to the Canna plants and a bit betetr than the Monkey Juice-fed ones.

I use an Australian product called Monstabud. Its made with honey and has folic acid and humic acid in the mix. Works very well for me.

I also highly recommend liquid kelp, bat guano and wormcastings

Hiya Surfer...
Do you know of anyplace in Oz that will ship some nutes (organic or not) like you have to Asia??? HydraMaster sez no and Everything_Hydro doesn't have what I want.

Thank you Mr.Celcius. That helps to clear up my confusion a bit.

British Hempire...That's just the experiment I needed to hear about. Thank you for letting us know.

So you had the best Yeld with the Canna and the same quality wiht anyone?

i was looking at the iguana juice. but i was under the impresion that due to the nature of coco it needs a speical formulated nutrient ie; canna/monkey juice etc. is this correct?

how forgiving is hand watering organic nutes in pure coco for a coco noob?

As far as running a "non-coco" nute....get some Cal-Mag or it's equivalent, and you'll be fine. That's the biggest missing component in non-coco specific nutes, compared to coco-specific, the Calcium and Magnesium (mainly the Mag.).

Hand-watering....forgiveness....? It's not bad jonnygotah. The one thing I would suggest is never forget to check pH. I always check mine immediately before I fertigate (fertilize & irrigate combined = fertigate). Other than that, I would say hand watering coco has to be easier than any other way of growing....for me, anyway. Give it a go, there's lots to love about coco.

BUMP!
Just wondering what you folks that are rolling Organic in Coco, are choosing? Anyone using liquid organics in coco? Anyone using organics and keeping it in a reservoir for a week at a time? I am interested in experimenting with some and wonder where i should start...
Cheers big ears
