Couple kilowatt light questions

I have a few questions about running a 1k light. I'm going to put it into one of those secret jardin DR150 tents, which is a 5 x 5 area. 40 watts per square foot is within what I feel to be an acceptable range. First question - how powerful a fan do I need to cool it assuming I have it hooked up to active ventilation (sealed reflector, flanges on both sides, the nice model haha). Secondly, what is the optimal distance to hang said 1k light, factoring in the area it will be lighting?

Thanks a lot for any help and advice.

Peace as always,

A 6" vortex connected to an aircooled reflector should do the trick just fine. I'd keep the light 18-24 inches from the tops of the plants. Best of luck

Hey thanks everyone. I was hoping for a CFM number though, since I want the fans to be quiet but I also want to make sure the lamp is adequately cooled. For example, fantech makes a centrifugal fan (which seems the smartest choice to me) with models that have CFM of 117, 148, 481. Ecoplus makes models with 170 and 440. I'm just curious which of these would be the most optimal. Thanks all. Also, would 24 inches be high enough up to cover the whole 5 x 5 area?

Well all CFM is LXWXH so if if your tent is 8' tall then you're looking @ a CFM of 200, but I'd over compensate. Maybe a 265, or you could get a 440 and hook it up to a temperature switch ergo when the tent hits a certain temp, it activates the fan...

I believe the dimensions of the DR150 are 5 x 5 x 6.5 = approx 167 cubic feet. The idea of a controller is a good one but way beyond my level of expertise to hook it up. I like the 265 idea though. I'm working in an apartment and the growroom would be in my bedroom. I don't like noise too much haha, hence I'd rather go with the slightly lesser CFM fan as long as it would provide adequate cooling. I'm also not rich so saving a little cash would be groovy. What brand of fan pulling around 265 is the most reliable and quiet?

yeah I live about 3 mi. from the nearest house so noise has never been an issue. I use a 265cfm squirrel cage fan in the grow room - works great.
