TDS meter storage

Does anyone know if you can store a Hanna TDS meter in distilled water that has had the Ph adjusted from neutral? I know straight distilled in a no-no but if it is a little acidic would that work?

Nutrient solutions and plain water are kept in a 35 gallon capacity barrel in my grow room. The ph and tds probes are kept in solution and cleaned with a toothbrush periodically. Been doing this for years without issue and the soft scum is easy to remove. Probes that are not thoroughly washed before storage allow "dry caking" build up and are more of a tedium to clean.

Iv never stored my oakton TDS meter in any type of water (nothing in the manual about that), no problem here and in fact my meter only drifts by around 100 ppm every two months.

I've always capped my Hannah TDS/PH/EC combo meter w/ my PH 7.0 calibration solution. I've purchased two probes in 5 1/2 years so this is a proven method of storage.

In Orange County, California they are now recycling sewage waste water. The water that is retrieved from the sewage is so clean after processing that they have to add minerals to it. If they don't add the minerals, the water will leach them out of the pipes it travels through.

I'm only guessing here, but I would imagine this is the same principle behind not using distilled water to store the meter. It probably destroys (erodes) the probes.
