I have a 250 watt metal halide light and it is currently attached to a 140 cfm dayton blower. I have used two different light bafals and the light keeps turning on and then stays on for about a minute and then just goes out. The baffal is def on this whole time. After it goes out it just starts to turn on again. And eventually goes out again. Definelty not baffal or any vibration from blower. Can a lightbulb just flash on and offf like that or is there something wrong with the socket?

The bulb needs to be replaced most likely...occasionally it could be the ballast itself, but it's not as common.
replace your light bulb, if that doesn't fix the problem I would consider replacing your ballast as it sounds like you may have a short in the electric system, also check all your plugs one may be loose. Your problem like MFT said is most likely your bulb, I had a bulb that had the connection point at the base of the bulb melt once.

I have a 400 watt that does the same thing. It's old and beat up, but it used to work. I changed the bulb 3 times and it still fucks up. Can it be fixed?
