it's retarded and stupid all at once!!There are no "health" reasons for doing it and anyone who is doing it needs a crack in the head!!Light a fucking match,flic a bic,grab a hot tinder........forget the retarded fads about Solar Hits!!!
There are no reasonable reasons for doing it,just cuz ya can??fuck have ya ever lit yer bowl off a hot exhaust?its cool,or how bout with a soldering iron,wow...good stuff!!

During IC Mag 420 Cup a few years ago, had the pleasure of trying a 'solar hit' courtesy of Trichomefarmer 'and' his amazing hash.

Sure tasted superb...clean...no residual taste from using a lighter.

I recommend sunglasses! Sometimes bits of light refract off glass bowls and is bad for eyes. It is especially nice on a sunny day with hash/kief.

The kief gathered in both pics was from no more than
3-4 grams of good bud w/ nice trichs.

OK....... If you're not using a kief box you're likely
losing a HUGE percentage of the best/only part of
your stone. This box was only $25.00 delivered off
of eBay, I have spendier boxes $85.00 & $175.00
but rarely use them since buying 'el cheapo' above.
All of my stash now gets cleaned over the box, if I
ever get to growing any quantity I'd certainly buy
a tumbler for the trimming & popcorn bud extraction.

no it wasnt really dry , i put a couple leaves in a big book for about a day and a half i think (it was awhile ago).the point is it was long enought to flatten the fanleafs. it felt kinda dry but you could still work with them... i used like 2 fingers from a fanleaf and used spit to make them stick, im sure iso or bho would be even better..it wasnt easy but i ended up with something that looked like a joint, rolling it was a task.then i just dryed it out with my lighter..smoked nice however i did have to keep relighting it, the bud wasnt all the way dry and i was a noob.if i would have used dry bud it would of burned like a blunt.best tasting wrap ever.btw it was my first plant and it was dp blueberry fem.i think everybody that has acess to fresh fans should try this....

I take solar hits every now and again and I agree with everyone who said the taste is great, because it is. And it's good hit after hit too. When I smoke a bowl of the same weed with a bic it doesn't taste good after the first couple. With a magnifying glass it's tasty to the end. I also don't see how people are knocking a healthy and fun way to smoke. I'm not under 19 either and the first time I even tried it was after smoking many years when I was 24.

Making fire is a primal experience, doing it in this way is quite peaceful, balanced. They used to roll cigars with extra paper on the end so you could put in a coal from the fire, that was cool, but not clean and peaceful like solar hits.

When buying a magnifying lense do NOT take into account the magnification factor, Only the diameter of the lense. A 4" lense is as good as you need. any larger is just insane overkill.
I found a place on the internet a few years ago where you could buy single glass lenses for $3-4 a piece. I cant find the link anymore. try to google double convex.

you can achieve the same clean taste indoors without sun with a wand. i use to have multi chamber 3 foot bong with a ash catcher and i used a wand. Now I've used a volcano extensively and i can easily say that the former was even smoother than the later.

I have been working on a design for a windproof, snowproof, water and impact proof solar vaporiser for the sporty types.....x-sports, snowboarders/skiers, windsurfers etc....would prob retail fer $40-60 if it went into decent size production.

Anyone think it has potential?

And I think a solar bong snap is one of my favorite ways of smoking.

Bad picture, but this is a Magna-Page. About the size of a piece of paper, and absolutly TORCHES the bowl. Taste is far superior to a butane lighter or even the phedor, which is pretty nice. Gotta be careful though about burning yourself or anything that gets in the way of the ray.

It's already been done Genkisan,bout 100 yrs ago,there are a couple solar pipes that were patented.Obviously they didnt take off too well,a fad at best.When it's nite,when it's cloudy,when it's raining,when the sun just aint shining................ALL you solar puffers are using a lighter or match,and if you live in Washington state..............your using waterproof matches!!
