Listen to Michelle! Treating Yourself ROCKS! It is a bit short on "Bodacious Babes with Bongs" (sorry, guys), but is totally filled with insightful, informative articles. But, don't believe me, check it out for yourself! The TY site has back issues posted, so you will know the quality of the magazine! No buying a "pig in a poke" here! I recently picked up a couple HT issues from my local bookstore because, as far as I can tell, it's the only weed magazine on this island. Needless to say, I was incredibly disappointed. I did like the fact that they're starting to reach out to these sites a little bit. I like that Subcool and Mandala are getting some play(and I'm sure Rez has, aswell). Other than that, it just sucked. They had some "Kush Kup" and none of the stuff was really Kush; it was all "kushes" as we've come to know as of the last few years. I used to pick up "Weed World" and "Heads" a few years ago, but that's before I knew much about growing, so I'm not sure that they may be any better(Something tells me that they are, though).

People still buy magazines?

Personally, I like high quality glossy pictures of great bud. But I can't stand the adverts, hype, lame-ass porn, questionable advice, and cocky shits which are in High Times and Weed World.

Treating Yourself sounds better - though i've never seen a copy.

In general though the cannabis industry is overloaded with hype, sellouts and assholes, so when it comes down to it, the only advice I trust is at IC from other growers. This is the only magazine I need.

Bought a HT a while ago and couldn't get through all the porn ads and fake bud ads.... HT sucks for hawking that crap as weed. They may need the money, but they tarnish the cause......unacceptable.

My fave mag is ICMag! Better photos, info, and interactive. Dead trees are so yesterday....

I've never actually bought a mag before..

If i would it would probably be ICmag Gypsy always has some awesome travel stories to share. But do you actually get any other useful information that is not available on the boards from the mags ? I kinda doubt it..but i would not mind getting a few just for the sake of the pot industry. Hey anyone remember the thread we had a while back..someone suggested that there should be a magazine made totally out of hemp! Great idea imo..i would buy a copy of that for sure!

....well I have published 2 magazines and I must tell you it's not an easy thing to do and keep going and keep profitable......you need a good staff and plenty of funds to even get the ball rolling.....

.....so whoever is still publishing magazines.......I wish them good luck.....to me it seems to be much easier to do what you could do in a magazine and more on the internet .....on a forum site such as this where growers and those interested can interact in real time with other like minded people......

So save or print what you find valuable...think how much data a single dvd can hold.

You won't find any PORN or FAKE BUD in our magazine nor will you find it filled with ads. Issue # 11 which comes out in mid March contains 196 pages of quality content and only 20% adverts.

When I first launched our publication in 2005 we had 26 pages and 2 1/2 years later we now have 196 pages. We have gained the respect of many folks in the movement who are now helping out by contributing articles for each issue.
