I've been hearing that when it comes to micro growing or cfl's i dont remember right now, that you count lumens and not watts, if i am correct in assuming this how would go about determing how many lumens i need for my cab (48inx36inx24in), i am certain the cfl i am gettin from 1000bulbs.com are enough for this cab, but i need to know what some people are pulling(drybuds) from their cfl cabs......any input would be great, the bulbs are labled at 6900 lumens i think there 125 watts.

How much are you paying for them? farmtek.com has some for around $40. You can still count watts just use at least 50 watts per square foot for good results and keep the light close. Yet, more light won't hurt you. I've used a 125 watt cfl and pulled 3 ounces dry. Yet, it was a vertical grow with the light in the middle being cooled with a thermal resistant plastic cover like a cool tube. I had 4 plants growing around the light. The plants ended at about 20" in height. I also grow hydro rather aero as well.

Just make sure that they will fit.

With CFLs its 6-8,000 lumens per sq ft at 5-6,500k for veg an 8-10,000 lumens per sq ft at 2700k for flower! More is better!!! less well, youll yield less an the buds wont be as potent or nearly as dense.

Quick question for ya guys. Im going to be using a comp case thats about 22" deep and about 9-10" wide and about 26" tall. Im going to be pumping about 16500 lumens from 6 bulbs into it. Is that sufficient or should i try and cram some more lights in there, like previously stated more is better.

No way, that sounds like plenty. You should be good to go. I'd love to know where you found such a huge PC case though... I could sure use another.

hey Land O, for fututer reference start your own thread for questions or ask them in the cfl club if its about cfls, but 16500 lumens in your space is just over my recomendadtion for cfls, more is better though!

@ Rudie, I got it off of ebay, it was just some random plain beige comp case, full tower of course.

How is 3 2700k 1600 lumen (4800 total) on 6 inch in flower?
anyone wanna guess a yield?
its also under 5 tubes average 1000 lumens each but there quite a bit above it and the plant isnt centered under them
