Aw man i'm sorry to hear that, it always sucks when that happens. For this grow all we did was dip the rock wool in some water, we didn't soak them too much... and then put the seed in the rock wool, it took like 5 days or maybe longer before the popped out... next time i germ seeds i'm just going back to the paper towel method, it's always popped the seeds in like 2 days. How long did you have them in the paper towel before you put them in rock wool? I was a little worried at how long it was taking the seeds to germ just putting them strait into rock wool, but for the most part it did work out pretty well in the end.

Peace

i left them in there for about 2 1/2 days...because I was waiting on the other 3 to show taps...besides, I have heard of people simply leaving the beans in distilled water till they show taps so I don't think the moisture killed them. I may even go with this method because I have heard it has good results.

What do you think?

That seems odd then... 2 1/2 days isn't long at all. I've never tried the distilled water method before but if you've read about people having success with it then I'm sure it's worth giving a shot. I've also seen people use the shot glass method with a little bit of liquid karma, I'm not exactly sure how it's done but it's just another method to try out. Good luck with the next attempt, what kind of beans are you going to try and pop?

Peace:canabis:

Well Gerrit got back to me and the beans are indeed fresh...so it looks like I may have cooked them. I am going to try again using the glass jar method with water shaken vigoursouly in a warm location...no major heat source this time for 1/2 a day then put them into the lightly dampened medium (prob both soil and rw). And I am going to do a test run on one first then do the rest.

Well tested a little sample of the 44 day old DSD and Biko II from last week. Now this stuff was early, quick dried and some of the bud were still developing seeds and it still rocked me. The DSD was the winner for now, has a hint of berry, nice and smooth, definitely a winner, the Biko II was good as well but not as nice as the DSD. Still have some time left on these, i believe today is day 50, think we might just start to flush and chop everything at an even 63-65 days even though the DSD's probably would be better off with more time, but we'll see at least have to let the DSD's get ripe enough so we get some usable seeds.

Peace

That's good to hear oaktree...can't wait til I have my own supply.

As for my seed...I did a test germ on one and it was successful! Soaked in distilled water at 25-27C for 28 hours until a crack was vivislbe...then planted in moist soil ~1cm deep and after 1 1/2 days the cracked seed is almost breaking the surface and I expect by tomorrow will be upright!

Cheers and thanks for the help

Glad to hear it worked out for you donatello22, you'll have your own stash in no time.

Clones are now in soil thanks to OnTheShelf, today would be day 54 of 12/12. The Bikos are a 60-65 day strain but the DSD's are more like 65-75+. Would a 3 week flush for the DSD's be ok? would that hurt them in anyway... being without any nutes for 21 days? or does the flush kinda help the plant finish up? either way i think we'd like to chop all at the same time to get the next crop going. Just need to make sure those seeds develop enough to grow out. Thanks for any info/help.

i would give them nutes up until 10 days left. they should really be putting on some weight now. they might need all the nutes they can get, for hydro 3 week flush seems a bit excessive. 10 days should be very sufficent. you could stretch it to 14 for a really clean flush, but 21 is way too long imo.

wheres the new pics???

LONG OVER DUE!!!

Finally was able to snap some pics.

Ok so heres the update. Day 63 of 12/12 checked the trics, the bikos are pretty much all cloudy, the DSD's are just about all changing to cloudy. 2 of the plants (a biko, and DSD) look like they need more time then the others but i think they'll all come down in about a week or so.

Clones are in soil, but they haven't really done much growing. They have weird leaves growing out of the tops of some of them... is this because they were taken when they had a little bit of bud on them? Anyone know why it's moving so slow? they've been in soil for 2 to 3 weeks now.

We have a little pest problem in the rez. but we added some SM-90 to try and help with that so hopefully that does the trick.

Here are a few shots of the pregnant ladies at day 63

the leaves that are growing out the tops are new growth. since u took them while they had started flowering you will have a bush on your hands it will look sort of like u fimmed them with several tops coming out. :headbange

Yea Endo it's so close, i was surprised to see that just about all the ladies are cloudy. They have the nice 2 plus week flush already. Hoping for something real tasty.

 hows it going 2cool2. The clones are slow but they definitely look like they have lots of growth spurting from all over the tops. They've been slow to grow but i think once they're under the HPS they'll be fine.

nice chunky nugs fellas. I've lost track of this thread... and low and behold the ladies came around quite nicely.

Any expectations on yield? How long are those strains supposed to go?

Looking forward to some stats, pics and a smoke report of the finished product.

Cheers

Hey haze-silly and _frankenstein_ it's been a busy week plus so far. Seems like that always happens. Anyway on to business. Plants are done! Harvested 6 days ago. Plants are dry and in jars now. Yield was nice, seeds are nice, bud is real nice looking. The biggest DSD couldn't even hold it's own weight, and the biggest Biko II was by far the frostiest plant in the closet. Ok so here are some harvest pictures.
