Durban Poison Recomendation

Hey guys,

Im hoping to get some Durban Poison beans soon. Although I dont know what vendor/company I should try to get them from.

First off im in the USA, so I can only order from companies that will ship to us.

Second off, im looking for a Pure Durban Poison, not a hybrid.

Im hoping the strain will be like the Durban I use to get when I was younger. So im gonna describe the smoke and nugs, and maybe hopefully someone will recognize it and recomend me a good place to get it from.

The nugs were very light green, with a tight dense structure. Not super dense, but deffinetely not airy. The smoke was very very expansive in your lungs. You could easily take to large a hit and regret it afterwards as your sent into a coughing fit bringing tears to your eyes.

Anyways, if anyone can recomend to me a seed company that carries a Durban Poison that fits my description and needs I would really appreciate it.

Thanks a ton,
MR

Hey MedResearcher-
My Durban recommendation would not to grow Durban/ Durban Poison at all.

I've personally grown Durban from a few different banks and none have been worthy of the time or space.

Sorry if this isn't the response you were hoping for, but just trying to save you time and effort.

There are many excellent hybrids available that would suit your description- my suggestion would be to look into something else.

This is only my opinion though.
Good luck.

I have a magazine from a while back that tested to see who had the real Durban Poison, one was from Dutch Passion and i think the other was from Sensi Seeds but i could be wrong on the Sensi Seed. They did a side by side grow and supposedly the Dutch Passion won. So last summer my buddy bought a pack and we ended up with three after some animal dug up our plants, a indica pheno and a sativa pheno and a male. The buds were like you described and the plant grew to about 7 feet it should have yielded large but it was in a shitty spot or expect a fair bit of pot. Lastly its not strong smoke i think its rated at 9% thc so if you are a heavy pot smokers i dont think you will care for it. I enjoyed it so give it a try you might like it and btw DP version is only inbred and its the closest thing to Durban Poison as you are gonna get

Thanks guys^^

Ya the THC % can deffinetely turn you away, but its not just the THC you need, there is also CBN, CBD, and prolly other compounds as well.

I cant say anything about the seed banks version, but the local version I use to get was insane, and put almost everything else to shame. I would deffinetely rate it as one of the top 5 strains ive ever come across.

Hopefully the seed bank version will be what I expect, otherwise I might have to be off to Africa on a mission :bashhead:

If anyone else knows where to get a good version please chime in, its much appreciated.

Hi,

were the pistils red? maybe dark orange?

was it somewhat leafy, yet coated real well with resin?

It definitely was a bit leafy, or at least had leaves on the outside. I even remember probably the best batch I had ever seen of it, it was from Pacific Valley, just a bit south of Big Sur. Anyways it was so dank, they didnt trim it at all except for the water leaves. So it looked like a large corn cob of leaves, but the leaves were coated from the tip with crystals and looked great, then once you got to the bud on inside... wow... funny to cause this untrimmed bud was 350 a zip and people would have fought over buying it.. it was that good. Probably about 3 or 4 buds made an zip. The indoor we would see though was all popcorn buds, small and a tad leafy as well.

Its been a while but I think the hairs were red, but honestly it was mostly green, like the hairs didnt stand out much, just light green bud, light green leaves, and white crystals mostly.

We would get some bubble hash from it, we had nicknamed it crack hash. It was very light brown almost blonde. Extremely playable at room temperature, would melt and bubble up to the last hit. I remember taking like a 3 foot bong toke with a little bit on top of the bowl..... probably coughed and cried for a solid 5 minutes thinking.... why in the hell did I do that ! :muahaha:
